I see Sam to the Rams possibly in the near future...

Just posted on PFT: "Will that mean not practicing at times in the regular season? Maybe. The Rams have a history of giving picks away for players. If the Panthers pick up a huge portion of his contract, I can see them trading him for a mid round pick. The Rams are all bought in for the year and need an experienced back up.

This could be the reason why Sam is still competing for a starting job. To show he's close to being a starter (didn't say good or not), or at least a top back up and he is better than 1/2 the back ups in the league.

I'll be shocked if we get anything for Sam but I'd love to be wrong about that.

Top backups don't give the ball away.  That's kinda the thing.  Teddy Bridgewater is a top backup.

Sam Darnold is a bad QB.  A bust.  

Fitzmagic is still available, as is Mike Glennon.  Those are better choices than Darnold.

Why not? If McVay can get Goff to take him to the Super Bowl, why can't he coach Sam to just a couple of wins if needed. He's got real NFL experience.

no one is trading for Sam even if we pay all his salary.  Everyone outside of Matt Rhule knows you can't play him.

Last year when the Panthers gave away a very high 2nd round pick for Sam (that still hurts), Rhule said that Sam reminded him of Matthew Stafford.  LOL.  It would be interesting if he ended up being a backup to Stafford.
