I get that with certain positions, for example, Darnold and Mayfield were both ass last year so make one of them earn it.

Bozeman on the other hand was milessssss better than any of the guards or centers on our roster last year.

Nonetheless, this team is run differently than what I’ve seen in the past coaching cohorts.

I’m sure he will be here too once he learns the concepts and builds time with the coaches and others on the line. 

You get valuable experience on the second unit too.

He’s not on the second unit though, they have him running a lot with first team LG.

A lot of mixing and matching going on right now.

Bozeman at first team LG then second team C, guys are all over the place right now.

It would only make sense if the Panthers truly believe that Christensen can’t play guard and are forced to put Bozeman there.

If Darnold isn't going to be the QB1 but Baker has to take reps with the 2s for the sake of appearances, then you put the new C1 with the twos also. Now both Baker and Bozeman can be said to have "won" their spots as starters during practice AND got meaningful reps together to get their exchange down.

Good points. Likely all about just trying to find the best 5 and encourage interchangeability and understanding each other’s roles.

OL play in the NFL has a lot to do with chemistry between the lineman.   Playing next to guys and learning how the guy next to you handles things.  

No reason for him to not be at center.   It’s college coach Rhule showing himself.   Same with the QB “competition”.  In the end end he is just robbing guys of reps they need.   Both guys are new and can use all the starting look reps they can get  with the starters.

That’s not the case though, they keep switching QB’s while leaving the lines in tact. In reality neither the OL or QB’s are building continuity. It’s a hodgepodge right now.

There is so much arm talent in this camp. 
 

All our qbs have exceptional talent. Really looking forward to the lights coming on.
