Guy has a point, though. Although both Cole and Abby made their choices as adults, the reality is this:

She lost her job and blew up her career while Cole gets a new, bigger contract, moves his family and the only possible consequences he faces are from his family and friends, and those certainly are not a given.

Athletes arent going to lose their job over affairs. That would be silly. Doesnt stop them from ridicule however.

Like it has been said before, Abby probably would still have a job too if
A. She wasnt a reporter in the public eye
B. Didnt use her access to her personal advantage
C. Biggest reason above all, her actions affected the team

Any other job, she probably wouldve been OK too.

I didn't suggest that- I simply pointed out the facts.

And, when is the last time you saw or heard of any guy get "ridiculed" over banging a very attractive woman?

Also all white knights need to stop and think about what if the roles were reverse and a male did what Abby has done.

So, 2 things here... if the roles were reversed and it was as consensual as this situation was, then Cole might have been fired if he was the reporter.

Second, why is it only "what Abby has done" and not Cole?

There have been many examples of men in power getting in trouble because of their pecker. It goes both ways. Unless you have statistics that a woman is more shamed than a man, its just hearsay. Both can be viewed negatively by the public and judged if they want.

Because Im talking about Abby, wasnt that obvious?

And absolutely Cole would be fired. Using his access to bang married women and affecting that team overall. No way he would have a job.

I was going to start listing references, but this one from the NIH is probably more scientific in its approach.

Ian Cole is collecting fist-bumps and high-fives, while hearing, "You hit that!?!" and Abby Labar is now collecting an unemployment check.

Again, they both made adult decisions and the consequences of those decisions may take years to put in the rear view mirror, but each will have to face their respective accountability.

Im pretty sure she would still have a job at Bally if she didnt bang anyone on the team. If it was someone else, she most likely wouldve been fine. Same with Cole.

Cole did lose his chance with us. No way we bring him back after all this. If it was someone else Cole did it with, we probably would be looking to bring him back.

Just because he can go to another team while Abby lost her job here doesnt mean Abby will never have another chance. She can still most likely go somewhere else eventually and become a reporter again. However, as it has been mentioned before a reporters integrity is highly regarded and she will have to work to rebuild that. Athletes dont have that, but if you want to view them negatively, go ahead.

I dont think anyone can play this sad song for Abby or  "see from her perspective" when many men in power have lost their jobs because they used that power for sexual advantages. You want to talk about double standards, dont change your stance because a woman does the samething. That a general "you" and goes for everyone.

Argument: Abby Labar loses her job after abusing her power while Cole isnt retained, but goes to another team.

YES!! THATS WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!!

You are supposed to get rid of those that abuse their power!

STFU

His contract was up.  What could the team do? So was Abby's.  The team didn't resign either.  Maybe you should get mad at Tampa for giving Cole a contract.

Access inside a professional North American team that not a lot of other people in America have.

... and?

Unless there are some unspoken allegations that she leveraged privileged team information to blackmail Cole into her bed, then I'm not sure what you are so up in arms about.

No matter how much you try to #MeToo her, that's not what this situation is.

To be clear, nothing public so far paints Abby as a victim in this affair either. On the surface, this sounds like the manager found the fry cook and the hostess in the walk-in cooler and had to let both of them go.
