If Baker can't beat Mr Ghost then I might die of laughter. Let them compete but Sam's issues include looking better when not in a game. If they have to give it to Baker then that is not good.

Baker is our best QB ... you start him. If he craps the bed, put Sam in until Matt is ready. Matt starts next year.

Yep. I don't care how good Sam looks in practice, he should not be starting any games.

Starting Sam again would be like taking back someone that has cheated on you 10 plus times, but appear to be saying the "right things" now.  He can look good in practice but the league knows what he is on the field during the game.

The only way Baker doesn't start every game this season is if he gets injured.

Maybe not. He'll opt to play on one leg if he can drag himself on to the field. Just like last year, it's a big season for him.

Why though? Baker is better than all of them. Matt might one day be lightyears better ... but right now he's not ... at all. Sam and PJ aren't even close to Baker's level (which isn't that high sadly).

A sham of a competition leads to a sham of a season. I'm not into disregarding camp, and I certainly believe that people can improve and grow. Anyone that takes the mantle should earn it, period! If you can't genuinely beat out the others pre-season, then you shouldn't be starting the season.

I want a competition between Baker and Corral. I would rather not see Darnold included at all, for fear that Matt Rhule might double down on doing something stupid.

Yeah but if he is obviously better than it should show immediately. What is the risk of a competition?
