The Carolina Panthers are owned by a Dan Snyder clone

Typical overreaction at this point.  If somehow this team wins the first 4 games these same types of fans will say we are superbowl bound.  Not sayin Tepper is a good or bad owner it is just way to early to know how this will play out.  Of course fans are not really know for rational thought most of the time as is evidenced daily here by the constant overreactions.

Aren't you the guy who had a major hard on for Gettleman? Not sure if your judgement is to be trusted. The verdict is still out on Tepper but at this moment a comparison to Snyder is laughable at best.

Tepper is basically Shahid Kahn IMO.  Maybe a slight upgrade.

Tepper just seems like a run of the mill bad owner so far. Snyder is one of the worst owners on pro sports history. Not saying Tepper won't get there, but he has a long way to go to earn Snyder comps.

Most owners start out terrible. Although it's not looking great the jury is still out as you said. Tepper would have to tank us for quite a while to get to Snyders record.

I don't see it. He may be too involved, but he's never gone out of his way to be in front of cameras, interviewed, nor has he pretended to be the GM in the draft room.

Not yet anyway. He's more involved than I care for.

Honestly, what does it take to be a good NFL owner?

Recognize your own limitations and hire good help.

Also, don't sexually harass your employees.

If you can do these things, your team will win more games than they lose.

This should be a pretty low bar for any multi-billionaire capable of tying their own shoe laces.

Someone has been drinking again. Ignore this hobo

Seems to be a lot of that going on today in these threads.  Is today "Take Your Bottle To Work Day" and nobody told me?

I've always said the job description for an NFL owner is to count money.  When they are done, count it again.  The NFL delivers it in box cars so it should keep them busy.   Not only is that all they have to do, it is all they should do.

Snyder is a "special case."  He gives sleazeballs a bad name.

    • All QBs have limitations  I guess it becomes how much of the offensive playbook is gutted to accommodate those limitations ..and the world shouldn’t have been given up for a game manager …but, if he can be enough of a game manager for one season, and allow for BPA in this year’s draft, that’s a win to me as the Panthers have so many holes now.  I’m encouraged that Morgan will fill them im also encouraged that Canales will move on from Young if, and when, appropriate…as HC, it’s about more than just his Offensive playbook     I am glad for Young…no harm in being glad for his improvement.  the tale of  his tape is coming with all but one probable playoff team on the schedule i would love to see them move on from Evero…even when he had players, there was always a reason they couldn’t get off the field.  Salah, come on down
    • "Our O-Line is finally good, so we should get rid of the most consistent guy we've ever had at RT and roll the dice on a rookie in the draft because it's cheaper." -Idiots Ever heard the idiom "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"? Moton is a Pro Bowl level Tackle. Extend Moton 3 years with the ability to cut bait at 2 if decline in play happens due to age. Look at drafting a tackle in the mid-rounds who is raw but has potential, and let him learn under Moton for a season or two. If he shows progress and looks like he can be the heir apparent, then move on from either Moton or Icky and have the newest guy slide in to the vacant T spot. If Icky continues to play well (And he has played very well this year, people are being chuds about him based on last year) then extend him too. You can't sit here and bitch about how "We AlWaYs GeT rId Of OuR bEsT pLaYeRs" then turn around and bitch when we extend said best players. Who gives a poo if we have a ton of money tied up in the line? That's where you should invest the team's money. O-Line makes the offense run. Hell, draft an O-Lineman every draft. You can never have too many of them.
