Brady sucked and those defending him either didn`t watch the games or have no idea what they are seeing.

They're saying Rhule was in his kitchen. The offense was exactly the same after Brady left. Not even the great Cam Newton could overcome the foolery that was Rhules ridiculous NFL 2QB system. Salt and Pepper, come see Cam sit!

Well we went with the polar opposite this year with an OC that is trying to resurrect his near-dead career. We will see, I am not expecting just slightly better than what we did with Brady.

Brady was badly overpromoted but he is young and has his career ahead of him still. The way Rhule runs his team is pathetic and it sounds like a fair take given how we did after Brady was fired.

He didn’t really have to get away with anything at LSU.  People forget that he was not the OC, it was not his offense, and he did not call plays

He called the plays on 3rd and long and inside the 10 at LSU.  He wasn't the OC.  But he was part of it.

Thanks, dude. Best laugh I've had all day (so far, at least) 😁

Those stories were last year dude.  They were discussing Rhule being gone before now.

Sorry if what we were talking about went over your head, yet again.

My offer to help with how to use google still stands.  You've gotten really good at the emojis, you can handle this.  It won't take too much time away from you  being the huddle's twitter bot.
😆😆😆😆😁

Brady didn't have enough NFL experience to make adjustments or, apparently, to get us into the end zone. Although he should have after being an offensive assistant under Payton for 2 years. He's now the QB coach in Buffalo so he may actually get a ring before anybody on the Panthers does. Irony at its best.

Here's a pop quiz dude 😎

...

1) What does the phrase "this time last year" mean?

2) One year back from today, what was the date?

3) Using the standard Gregorian Calendar, which comes earlier between the month of July and the month of November?

...

I'd like to hope that answering those questions might clear up for you just how dumb your argument is, but your history tells me it might not so I'll see if I can spell it out 😆

This time last year, Matt Rhule wasn't considered to be on the hot seat and there wasn't a huge Huddle movement calling for him to be fired. His first season had been about what we expected, even better for some, and so most of us we're cautiously optimistic about his second season.

And then his second season actually happened...and was terriable.

Thus, here we are...

All that is well n good.  Except I didn't say "this time last year".

I said "end the season last year ".  Go reread my post that YOU replied to.  I said end of the season last year.

Read much?

He wasn't ready. We saw it on the field first hand. Was it all his fault? Absolutely not but in football it never is. Being a Panthers fan you just saw the difference between the Turner's and Brady. He got out coached on more than one occasion.

Brady was 6-feet of man in 13 feet of water as an NFL OC.  He worked for a guy who is 6-feet of man in 15 feet of water as an NFL HC.

Maybe, if you put Brady in as the OC under Belichick or Reed, his “lift” is lightened and he gradually succeeds.  Maybe.  I’m not sure he works out under anybody else other than maybe McVeay…..even more maybe.  His chances were certainly not enhanced by coming into a situation where he was one of the few coaches with NFL experience, working for a guy who had basically none.  It falls into “what did we think was going to happen?”

A red flag for college coaches and some NFL coaches is when they talk about how “their system” (“the process” here) leads to success.  When has anybody heard Bill Belichick talk about his system?  Reid?  John Harbaugh?  Tomlin?  Don Shula?  Bill Parcells?  Bill Walsh?  Joe Gibbs?  Jimmy Johnson?  It’s not that they don’t have a way they would like to do things, but given a choice between that or adjusting to what they have to work with, what is working in a given game, or what the opponent does, what they want to do goes out the window.  "Their system/process" is to win by whatever means they can devise.

An aside, it is my observation that OCs are more bull-headed about sticking to or returning to what they want to do (their system) than DCs.

There's no shame in having a ceiling as a good NFL coordinator, position coach, college HC, college coordinator, etc.  In fact, I respect people who reach their sweet spot, then either stick their toes in the water at the next step or seriously consider it and realize it is just not their cup of tea and return to what they are very good at or enjoy.  Some eventually try again and a few of them succeed, with the benefit of more experience.  Maybe Brady is one of those.

But, the Brady experiment needed to end and it did.  At the same time, he might have been a scapegoat since he was not the only guy on the sidelines that had no answers.

As for Rhule, the deer in the headlights look last year and continuing to mumble about "the process" is not a promising look. I've been watching the NFL for a long time and seen that many times before, and it has never ended well.

    • The agenda was building around Bryce.  2 WR, 3 olinemen, TE, and a potentially elite RB.  I stood up for Bryce all last year because I didn't think you could evaluate him properly with what we had last year in coaching, play calling and personal.  Bryce was the 2nd least pressured QB in the last 2 weeks because of the money Morgan spent on the line.  Despite Bryce looking horrible I'd say Morgan has had an exceptional beginning as GM. Here some more things I liked. Trevin Wallace looked like a banger in preseason.  Resigned Brown.  Gave Horn his 5th year option and Horn is playing very well. *Flipped a 7th round pick for a starting CB in Michael Jackson who has also played well. Filled a depleted roster with solid vets and if you really look at the cap this is a 2 year play.  Almost everyone except the 2 elite guards signed a 2 year deal. Did not pay Stephen Gilmore 10 million for one season. *Got the 0-2 Rams 2nd pick next year. Set a culture and tone of the type of players we want.  *Dawgs. *Elite GM moves.
