Maybe... I don't think we drafted Corral to ride the pine forever. If Baker goes out later in the season I could see Corral taking over.

Yes. Mayfield for all his flaws has been a successful starter at one point but Sam has been the same going back to USC. If push comes to shove you just cut your losses and be done with it.

Still have to field a team this year, and Rhule isn't likely to go for that option.

Speculation but doesn't the Mayfield deal kind of indicate they've seen enough out of Corral to believe his ceiling is higher than Darnold's?

Of course they don't want to play him this year however.
