Burns is a stud. YGM has potential. Derrick Brown is a bust. DT is def In the conversation for biggest need.

I wouldn't say Burns is a stud just yet. He has produced anything of significance in my book to get top 10 money.

We need a TE badly. Besides QB it’s probably the #1 need besides LB.

Tremble was a rookie last year and pretty raw as a pass catcher. Hopefully he can develop in McAdoo’s system with a better QB under center. For some reason McAdoo was pretty high on Thomas and wanted him extended. They look bad on paper, but there is a little potential there.

Pretty sure he's better than Jermaine Carter and the guy from 2020 that sucked. Whitehead I think. Luvu can actually play in coverage, pretty sure Reddick was listed as LB but was always on the edge.

Carter is trash and Whitehead one of the worst LBs I’ve ever seen here

People think Brown is some stud that Rhule stuck in a closet. Most rosters he wouldn’t have made the team last year. Why we took a chance on him over Trey Smith, I’ll never understand. We were a first hand witness to his horrific Senior Bowl, but then again we watched Little and Gaulden at the combine and spent a 2nd and two 3rds on them.

Personally, I like Mays on the roster over Brown and Daley.

Quarterbacks (2)

On the roster: Matt Corral, Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield/Jimmy Garoppolo

In the mix: P.J. Walker

Long shot: Davis Cheek

When NFL minicamps wrapped up without the Panthers and Browns finalizing a Mayfield deal, it assured the Panthers’ never-ending Great Quarterback Pursuit would drag out a few more weeks, likely into July. There’s no real impetus for either side to get a deal done now, especially considering everyone in the NFL is about to be on vacation. But the talks will pick back up as camp approaches, and the Browns will either agree to pay enough of Mayfield’s $18.8 million salary to satisfy Panthers owner David Tepper or they won’t. Trading for Garoppolo is a non-starter because of concerns over his surgically repaired throwing shoulder and $25 million salary. But the Panthers could be interested if San Francisco cuts him.

Running backs (4)

On the roster: Christian McCaffrey, Chuba Hubbard, Giovanni Ricci, D’Onta Foreman

In the mix: None

Long shots: Darius Bradwell, Spencer Brown, John Lovett

Wide receivers (6)

On the roster: DJ Moore, Robbie Anderson, Terrace Marshall Jr., Andre Roberts, Rashard Higgins, Brandon Zylstra

In the mix: Shi Smith, Keith Kirkwood, C.J. Saunders

On the roster: Ian Thomas, Tommy Tremble, Colin Thompson, Stephen Sullivan

Offensive line (9)

On the roster: Taylor Moton, Ikem Ekwonu, Austin Corbett, Brady Christensen, Pat Elflein, Bradley Bozeman, Michael Jordan, Cade Mays, Cam Erving

In the mix: Deonte Brown, Dennis Daley

Defensive line (9)

On the roster: Brian Burns, Yetur Gross-Matos, Derrick Brown, Matt Ioannidis, Marquis Haynes, Amare’ Barno, Daviyon Nixon, Bravvion Roy, Darryl Johnson

In the mix: Phil Hoskins, Austin Larkin

Linebackers (6)

On the roster: Shaq Thompson, Frankie Luvu, Damien Wilson, Brandon Smith, Cory Littleton, Julian Stanford

This coaching staff played Jordan over Brown the entire season last year, what makes you think they see anything in Brown?

Brown played the last 2 weeks.  He simply wasn’t conditioned for the NFL early in the season and we all know that.  The decision to wait to put him in as a starter was the right one.

we are talking about a depth piece here, not a starter.  Brown has far more upside and should be better conditioned by now.

That group of tight ends is easily the worst in the NFL and the worst in franchise history. My God.

Linebacking corp ain’t much better. Shaq is a stud but the rest is garbage.

I wish I could argue against this, but there it is.

Luvu and Tremble might blossom this year. But yeah, outside of Shaq, those cupboards are pretty bare.

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
