The optimism thread

Roster looks to be improved, except possibly at quarterback.

The OL could be significantly improved and has a new coach with a great rep.

Coaching staff is likely overall better, though I'm still not a fan of Phil Snow.

On top of what people said about this being a better roster, lots of youth with potentials breakouts, an actual NFL Oline there is also a change in structure to the coaching staff ( we have an assistant head coach on each side of the ball for example )  which should help give the locker room some more cohesion, experience and guidance. A lot of players are also talking about the buy in this offseason. Even Cam said last year that they had people who just were not in it. They seemed to have figured that part out.

It is possible that we will exit this season having solidified our OL and have only a small handful of needs.

That small handful of needs should be less pronounced than our needs entering the last 3 seasons (or more).

The only QB currently on the roster who should be on it after the season is Corral.  So, unless we sign another cast-off or a veteran, we can actually move forward with a little thought involved instead of being hamstrung by past bad decisions.

There is enough talent that they could surprise us this season.  They surprised us last season, but let's hope this season goes in the opposite direction.

due to the price of gas, there will be less fans from other teams traveling to NC.  Time to reclaim the BOA.

We are a QB away from contending.  Hopefully we find him here or elsewhere.  But the future is actually bright...

We’re potentially only one year away from a new coach, new GM, and hopefully a top flight rookie QB.

 

On an actually positive note though, there’s a lot of promising young talent on this roster (Icky, Horn, Burns, Chinn, Brown) to name a few that should be primed to take the next step. I always love watching DJM too, and a healthy CMC would be great.

The season is only 17 games long. You don't have to suffer that much if it goes the way it has the past couple of years. 

Also, the weather stays nice outside for most of the football season in NC. Always plenty of other activities.
