Technically, the title still applies. It could go on forever.

Hasn't it already?

Here's my one take on it: If we get Baker Mayfield, that's great, he is an upgrade and I think he'll play with a vengeance here as he makes his case for some team to pick him up as a long-term starter. He brought Cleveland relevance and no one had done that in two or more decades. Say what you will, he QBed a bad team into a contender in one of the hardest divisions in the NFL. He could do that here as well... he rose above some bad coaching and bad team management. They'll just have to remake his commercials and turn it into Bank of America stadium --- there's a lot of hay they can make of that.

"Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield"...

It hurts to say it 😖

Not a fan of this, but if it happens I will do as I always do and hope for the best.

So we would go from a nice guy who can't play QB for sh*t to a guy who is "competent" at QB but is a fk'n asshole on the field and off it.

Say what you will about Sam Delusional but at least he doesn't "rock the boat" so to speak.

Baker would capsize it after running it into an iceburg.

I'll be honest, I prefer the headline "trade for Mayfield might happen today" to "the trade for Mayfield happened today"...

Remember when we had four days and Lord knows how many posts of "Deshaun Watson might get traded today" 😕

    • I'm not saying he should be working in the NFL. He did deserve some criticism as DC there. But Kyle Shanahan certainly did use him as a convenient scapegoat. Now there is no one left to throw under the bus. Anyways he could find his way back to the league in some capacity who knows. But he's old school and in the NFL you either adjust or you get left behind. All the same no hard feelings toward him he's a good guy.
    • he has barely suited up for 50% of our games.  It matters pending how much of our cap and resources go that way.  If he cost in the ballpark of a Surtain? No thank you.  Let someone else  And as far we know what happens when we let talent walk away or trade them…..that’s a mixed bag.   should we of paid Norman, Bradberry at CB? They probably had earned the right to be called better than Horn at that moment of the decision.  Do we regret that? Do we regret Star walking? Can take it back to Spoon.  Flip side is probably Peppers.
    • We need to get better in the redzone. And yes that is an issue that involves all the moving parts. Oline receivers QB and playcalling. But Bryce himself has to lead the charge on that or surely we could face another blowout in one of these upcoming games. Every team no matter how good they are is going to face an opponent that imposes their will on them and requires the same in response. Those are the games where we have got to capitalize on drives. Honestly I get the sense that the Chiefs on some level overlooked us.  So while I am pleased we were as competitive as we were it certainly remains to be seen if this was the beginning for something new or just an anomaly. I think that's a perfectly fair take at this juncture.
