I don't know why anyone in this thread is worried about a situational, rational player that may be coming would even stop YGM from seeing the field. 

How is it this place get worse every year.

We don't have Joe Burrow buddy. LOL you are very ignorant. Mayfield, a broken shoulder Jimmy G is terrible. Jimmy G will never be the same his shoulder is more shot than Cams now. LOL

You would probably trade your 1 for Baker who imo is not as good as Darnold. Man had the best oline and rb core in the league and receivers such as Odell, Jarvis, etc. What did Darnold have? How is Baker better? Stats? Sure he's on a 10xs better team. Any decent QB takes that team to the Super Bowl with that roster last year, yet Burrow beat his ass w nothing. You sir are ignorant.

My strategy is to save cap money for 2023 when this team should be better and should compete for a playoff spot.  That's when you add those last pieces to the puzzle late in FA; when the team is on the cusp.   The 2022 Panthers aren't going anywhere and adding guys like this is just burning valuable cap room in the future...when we actually will need it.

Exactly. I am fine with tanking honestly. This roster is no where near ready to compete at a high level. Maybe 6 wins max. Save the cap. Don't waste it on this QB and coaching regime. Its not that hard and the reason Scott won't make any moves. He has somewhat of a brain. Now if Dunlap is super, super cheap who cares, but save as much as possible and spend like crazy next year with a first round QB and Corral as your future.

Tanking is a fan driven pipe dream. We have been cellar dwellers for 3 years running and have yet to secure a top three or even top five pick. It isn't happening.

Yep. Just like the Hornets. Not good enough to make/win in the playoffs, but not bad enough for a top 3 pick. Two poorly run organizations at the moment. #Purgatory

Don’t worry, I think we all understand your point…it comes up literally every season by somebody. It’s not exactly a unique take. The problem is that no NFL team in reality operates with this kind of mindset.  No team goes “well guys…we all know we’re gonna suck this year so we might as well save money, pack it in, and roll with these bums and just try and set ourselves up for a good 2023!!!”. That’s such a casual fan perspective lol. Every team begins the season 0-0 with a clean slate and with the objective to put together a competitive roster for the year. Injuries happen to key players every year and can drastically change the course of a season for any given team, for better or worse. Imagine if Brady got injured in Week 2 and they trot out Kyle Trask who turns out to be a monumental bust. All of a sudden our 5% chance to win the division turns into a 35% chance or w/e. No, I’m not saying we’re banking on a Brady injury to become competitive. There are countless variables and possibilities that inflate or deflate a team’s success in any oven season - that’s just one example (probably the most drastic one, albeit).
