If you read the New Orleans paper online...

...seems there is more interest in Drew breaking Marino's passing record than in winning the game...

I say he does not pass for even 300 yards, let alone 400. Just seems Carolina defense will focus on this and take this personally...any thoughts?

Panthers defense never takes anything personally.

John Fox's lackadaisical personality permeates through the locker room.

Honestly, call me a heretic, but as long as the Panthers win the game, I'd love to see Brees break Marino's record.

Why not? He's a great guy, he does a ton for their community, and if he actually does it, then he deserves it without question. He's only 29, he's got a lot of gas left in the tank, we could be looking at a truly prolific passer who only gets more accurate through the years.

Once again I reiterate, I'd love to see him break the record ONLY if Carolina breaks New Orleans.

Drew Brees has only passed for 400+ yards in 2 games this season, against ATL and DEN, and they were both away games for the Saints, I like our odds of stopping him.

anyways, the only thing I wanna see is Pep come out and get multiple sacks, Im not really worried about this game, our guys are playing for the division and their only good RB ATM has a back injury.

You want to see somebody embarrass our secondary for over 400 yards? You want every football fan to know the Panthers allowed him to pass for that many yards in one game to break the record? Sorry, but none of that sounds really appealing. Plus, he'd be breaking the record in a season where he led a one-dimensional offense straight to nowhere. He doesn't deserve it.

The play calling is too predictable. You can look at the players when they come off the field and see the frustration of having to run stuff that the defense has made adjustments to stop. The Giants tightened up the line to stop the off-center and guard runs Sunday night and we kept trying to run on an 8 man line.

Fox was a D Coordinator for the Giants and he let them eat us alive. I don't think he has the killer instinct to win. We barely win a lot of the time and don't know what it's like to put the game out of reach by running up the points. When we get ahead Fox starts trying to protect the lead. That's fine if you can get first downs running the ball up the gut but you also must have a defense to stop scoring drives on the other side.

Our problems are not the players but poor stratedgy by the coaches.

Since Fox came to Carolina only 4 teams in the NFL have a better record than the Carolina Panthers. We have good coaches. Stupid fans but good coaches. The NFL is about execution. All the teams run the same plays. The ones whose players execute them generally win. We were playing 8 man fronts against the Giants on that last drive. Were their coaches stupid to run on them?
