I think carolina will draft him he really good !!

Strengths:

Good height; can comfortably see over line

Very quick decision-maker

Great football intelligence

Nice touch on the football; clean spiral

Has an adequate sixth sense for pass rush

Takes what the defense gives him; doesn't force throws

Solid accuracy down the field

Absolutely outstanding timing; throws ball before receiver even gets into break

Good character

Weaknesses:

Lacks some bulk in his body frame

Extremely weak arm strength

Lacks agility and athleticism; can't evade a pass rush

Somewhat of a statue in the pocket

Floats deep ball a little too much

Not a very good passer on the run

Throws difficult routes - but with unimpressive velocity/talent

Highly limited skill set

Competitiveness hasn't been tested yet

Older than the average prospect (will be a 24-year-old rookie)

Summary: Pike projects strictly as a career backup in the NFL. He simply doesn't possess even an average arm to be a starter. Pike can be somewhat reliable since he makes great decisions and is highly intelligent, but he lacks a lot of talent, and you can't coach talent. I project Pike to come off the board between the third and fifth rounds.

Player Comparison: Todd Collins. Collins has a weak arm, but is an extremely smart quarterback and a reliable backup.

I wouldn't mind him. I think he can improve his arm strength, let's not forget Tom Brady's scouting report:

"Poor build, very skinny and narrow, will get pushed down more easily than you'd like. Lacks mobility and the ability to avoid the rush, lacks a really strong arm."

If the guys got a good attitude, and wants to improve he will improve. He's one of the few guys I can see falling into round 2, so he's someone Carolina needs to look at.

Free Agency or first round 'Quality' QB. Those are your ONLY two options when drafting a quarterback and hope to have any type of decent QB in his first year. AND defiantly not a spread QB. Jake Locker, Jimmy Clausen (yes i know he is gay irl but im not a bigot so i'm over it), and the long run to leave this year ryan mallet are the only 3 with POSSIBLE immediate sucess potential in this year's draft and locker is going to the Browns, Clausen to the redskins (where we would be picking if SF didn't have our pick) and if either make it past those two they defiantly wont make it pass seattle or jacksonville.

Ryan Mallet of course is the dark horse, seeing as he has better physical traits than any QB in the draft AND is in a pro-style offense at Arkansas with high flying numbers, the only problem being he is a sophmore, eligiable for the NFL draft but chances are he stays for at least one more year. But if he does come out, i saw we go for the weakest of the three and go after the 3rd avaliable QB, and hope that seattle or jacksonville won't mind a spread QB with good physical traits thats just a 2 - 3 year project.
