"NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport had some strong words about former Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral after the Carolina Panthers picked Corral in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft on Friday.

After four seasons and two dominant campaigns at Ole Miss, Corral was the fourth quarterback selected, going at No. 94. Rapoport said the Panthers viewed Corral as the quarterback in this class with the best college tape, but his slide to the back of the third round might have been caused by off-the-field issues."

So he can become cam Newton and not let past mistake define him or he can become Johnny manziel and never grow up. For a third rounder the risk is probably worth it

and I’m not saying he can become the same player as cam, just that he can grow and potentially let his talents define him as opposed to his antics

Jason Peter was addicted to opiates. From opiates it’s a straight line to heroin. It’s much different. 
 

the panthers also drafted rashard Anderson in 2000 who was literally selling heroin lol.

He admitted that in his first couple years he didn’t really watch tape or put in the work he should have.  He was an overconfident 18/19 year old.  He grew up a bit and hasn’t had any issues in years from my understanding.  I’m not worried about the guy

I watched his highlight video last night and he has a cannon. He throws lazers right on the money

Kids go through growing pains with learning their limits and hopefully grow from it.  ANd that can bleed into their early 20s as well.  Just gotta hope for the best.

The bigger concern was the difficulty in interviews with teams--that's when they throw a lot of concepts at these kids so paired with the Wonderlic, just hope he picks things up.  I mean, Dak and Mahomes were kind of in similar boats coming out and had to learn a lot quickly.  I'm hopeful.  Just hope he doesn't do any stupid sh*t, he's a professional now, it isn't college anymore.

How many NFL player got in a fight in high school? A crazy amount.  And how many got in a fight with Wayne Gretzky’s son? One.  That’s why we hear about that.  I totally disregard that. 

Did he party early in college and not take football serious? Sounds like it.  Is it well documented he changed that while in college? Yep.  Hell, that’s the path of how many successful people? 

Is he the safest pick ever? Probably not.  But that’s why he is a 3rd round pick.

Who cares. Cam had a “Fake smile” and the dreaded “laptop issue” as the number 1 overall pick. I’m not worried about any of it. We risk a 3rd round pick for a possible franchise QB. I take that risk 10/10 times

I wonder what a college athlete's alchohol problems are compared to what an adults alcohol problems are....  Also, didnt Pat Mcafee have a coach on recently that said he had a player that came to practice drunk everyday during his tenure as a HC?

Not to pick nits but partying in college is a bit different then what he has admitted to.  He had/has a problem with alcohol.  Thats one of the concerns Ian is referring to.  You can spin it anyway you want but the concerns are real.    That said its just a 3rd/4rth and is easy to move off of if something comes up

What alcohol issues? Again specifically have you read anything that has any details there? If not wtf are we talking about here. Did he get caught drunk pissing in an alley? Did he show up drunk to games? Practices? Or did the guy party too hard early in his college experience in his off time?
