What if.......  We still add to the QB room????

Jimmy G gets released as a courtesy?

Baker for a 2028 7th round pick at 50%  of his salary?

Remember.... we still have 30M in cap space.  Does all 30M minus rookie contracts roll over to next year?

We need to double dip at QB.

Strong or Howell with Corral and Darnold and let the cream rise to the top.

Is Matt a good QB?

Matt is a very good QB. He hates authority though and put off teams in interviews. His off field issues will eventually surface. It's his durability and off field issues that will be a problem. Carolina convicts for sure. Now we have a LT who can't pass block well and a QB who is fragile and likes to run when under pressure. This doesn't look like it's going to be a good mix.

There's always hope.

Ekwonu is an aggressive run blocker with the power to knock defenders off the ball and drive them into the ground. In pass protection, he's extremely long and jolts rushers with his powerful punch. His pancake reel is outrageous. He sometimes over sets and needs be more patient, but he has the foot speed, length and strength to quickly develop into an effective starting tackle at the NFL level

What do teams have coaches for?

    • Wilks is a nobody in the grand scheme of things.  He is right back out of the NFL, exactly where he was before Carolina dragged him back to the NFL.  I don't see what he has to be pissed or salty about. He got a shot with 2 teams and was just a average coach as he has always been.  He is a lesser Fox/Rivera
    • The way BY must play quarterback has a much higher degree of difficulty.  Coupled with his physical limitations his margin for error is small.    The guy evading the blitz and dropping a dime deep over double coverage is more exciting then a wobbling ball thrown into the blitz with good enough placement that gets 6 yards on a 3rd and 5.  It's been beat to death that he will never be the first guy.  He was the second guy vs the Chiefs.    The second guy is harder to do because it's mostly mental:  reading, reacting and processing the correct solution that the defense provided within a second or two.    It's harder to see on film, it's harder to evaluate.  That's why I think there's a divergence between fans yelling "noodle armed middle schooler!!" and analysts going "hold up, let's not write him off yet"    I personally need to see the Chiefs game be the start of growth before getting hopeful.  Ideally would like to see 1-2 300yd multi td games.  Then I'd expect the entire off season to fix his footwork.  With his physical limitations that footwork needs to be damn near perfect.  I would still bring in competition at the QB spot even in that scenario.
