Yep.  Buffalo had a clear 3 year plan for Allen and they had a completely new organization that could afford the time.   That is incredibly rare in the nfl.

It makes it crucial you get the qb selection right if you do not have that luxury as a coach.

A lot of this is NFL FOs hubris at work.  They're convinced they know none of these QBs are a franchise guy, and they're gonna show us.

Just like 20 some teams thought Aaron Rodgers was a system QB, and just as many thought Lamar Jackson was just a RB, and all 32 teams passed over Russell Wilson at least twice.

It's a joke.  I almost guarantee every single one of the big name guys left right now will be better pros than Sam fuging Darnold.  Hell, Howell was projected as a potential #1 overall pick after the 2020 season...  now all of a sudden he can't play football?😂

He is an inaccurate qb that played in an elementary offense at liberty and was completely exposed by p5 schools

The main issue I had with Malik other than his lack of experience against high-level competition is that his mid and short range throws had a lower arch on them. In the NFL those throws are going to get knocked down or intercepted more often than not.
I think that this plays along with the idea that he doesn’t have as much of a sense for anticipation and instead waits until receivers are open to throw the ball with a high velocity and low arch.

    • That’s a book of the great life that the Panthers have had. So great to look back on the great players and seasons that we have had. But I think the book could have been twice the size. We have had a good 30 years, up and down the standings. i know we are in a bad spot right now, but hopefully before long we will be climbing back towards that Super Bowl championship
    • LmAO ..it does not make any sense whatsoever why a team that is currently 2-0 would  trade their backup Qb to a team that is 0-2 & in the same NFC conference ? & what is Seattle going to do if Geno Smith is injured ? wouldn't a team that is  currently 2-0 & is quiet  possibly going to the playoffs  want a decent plan B that already knows how to operate their system & has some form of chemistry with their players  , like I said before this is the NFL &teams especially ones like Seattle  are NOT going to trade their backup Qb 2 games into the regular season...just saying
    • Yeah, I can see that happening, but my only thing is, whoever he goes to, it's going to be a bad team. Not a whole lot of difference between us and say Denver, Jax, the Giants or the Colts. Of course, we're probably worse, but not by that much. Manning would have to pick his poison.
