I believe the run we are seeing on receivers in the draft is largely a result of the recent huge contracts you have seen given to some.  You will see more and more receivers in free agency as that rookie contract runs out.  Teams cannot afford to tie up such huge portions of their cap in that position.  I would think we would see more teams with one proven high paid receiver and a bunch of young guys moving forward as the young guys have proven, many of them can have an immediate impact.

I would totally agree with this.  

I give the Ravens a lot of credit for their trade of Hollywood Brown.  They basically spent a 1st round pick on him, got 3 years of production out of him, and flipped him for another 1st round pick.  Worst case they take the $20M+ they save by not paying him and use that to pay a FA WR.
