I like Walterfootball for sources but I have a hard time believing this happened. 

I am not seeing any scenario in which we don't take a first round pick for Brown. He has been a huge bust.

Charlie did call the first 10 picks correctly, the last 5 Panthers #1 picks correctly, and said that Ickey was #1 on our board...he clearly has in's with the team

If he is accurate, that decision pretty much negates taking Eknowu at 6. 

It's that bad of a choice. I mean....you absolutely take a first(or probably second) round pick for Brown.

classic case of relying entirely on your size and athleticism during college that hasn't translated into the pros. 

At one point, Shaq even said that Brown has a tendency to have poor gap control that effects the run defense.
