Depends on the QB. Subtract Aaron Rodgers and Sam Darnold, and I think we are head and shoulders above the Packers roster wise, and they finished #1 in the NFC last year. But until we get that QB, it doesn't really matter. I'm not a Rhule apologist, but comeon, he's had Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold, PJ Walker and Cam Newton, none of which are top 25 quarterbacks in a 32 team league

Poor Rhule. The guy with contractual final roster control had these terrible QBs forced upon him.

He picked these QBs. Maybe Brady influenced picking Teddy, but Sam was all Rhule and his mentor Phil Snow.

Hopefully this carries over into the running of positions on the team. We now have experienced guys who know what they are doing so there's no reason for Rhule to do much but sit back and watch them and "supervise". I mean we still have the problem of Snow running the D, but at least there's some coaches on that side who know what they're doing too. 

He needs to have people coming back to him letting him know what things will and won't work in the NFL. Maybe one day he'll be an authentic and legit NFL HC.

At the presser last night, I thought both Rhule and Fitt did not look as happy as we are.  Fitt said they called teams trying to trade down a couple spots, but with all the big defensive players gone, there was no interest.  They were probably hoping to pick up a third trading down and still get a LT.  They just couldn't make it happen the way the board fell. 

As usual with  everything that happens on the huddle:

If we like it, then it came from Fitt.
If we don't like it, it came from Rhule.

People seem to forget the Fitt's first FA signings were Erving, Elfein and Darnold.

Also no CMC, no #6 draft pick last year and we had to play backups to our already bad starting linemen.  He had to deal with Hurney year 1 and Fitts first signings were NOT good.

Not disagreeing with you there, but the fact is he picked ALL of those guys, except Cam, who he tossed away initially.  Pretty hard to feel sorry for a guy who spent $60 million and a 2nd round pick to get "his guys".

I find it quite telling that the Panthers in talking about the draft this year have on multiple occasions said "We see CJ Henderson as our third round pick", but I've never once heard anyone say "We see Sam Darnold as our second round pick".

To be fair, they went after much better guys and even agreed to trades for Stafford and Watson and got turned down. Aside from Fields/Jones, who I agree with passing up, who could they have gone for that was available and would play here? Only one I can think of is Minshew, but its another big gamble.

but those were all Matt's choices. 

he could of drafted a guy in his first two drafts.  He didn't. 

There were also better options than Sam.  He didn't get them.   There was also legit competition he could of brought in.  He didn't.  He opted to not make Sam compete.  Other teams acquired better QBs than Sam for less of a cost.   They could of been here with Sam.  Beating him out.

Him being humbled is very likely what happened like you said.  Thank God.  This ain’t college buddy.  Since he’s actually sticking around I’m really curious to see how year 3 goes.  Year 3 was when Temple and Baylor started really improving, but Rhule seems so in over his head.  If we go to the playoffs looking like studs I’ll question everything about life

Tannehill, Mariota, Dalton in 2020 were FA's, along with Brady.

Brissett, Trubisky, Dalton in 2021.

Pretty much any of those guys are better than PJ Walker or Sam Darnold.  They are all on par with Bridgewater, though we paid far too much for him.  Really just a matter of preference.

The fact that we even have to consider who "wants" to play here should be setting off alarm bells somewhere.

Show me the evidence that Fitt didn't drive the Darnold trade.  I have video evidence where Fitt is driving it along with his personnel and Rhule isn't even in the room.

do you humble professional coaches into being good? Or are we just seeing a bad relationship play out.
