So what do you guys think?

I've been looking at a couple of mock drafts recently trying to see what QBs would be available when we pick you know, the Tony Pikes, Colt Mccoys, Ryan Mallets etc...

Then I was lookin a bit more and have seen several mocks where Mardy Gilyard the WR for Cincinnati has fallen all the way to the third round with the only knocks being on his size and route running... Sound familiar? Its the same poo people said about Smith. If he came here and got a chance to learn under Smith then this kid could be special. Hes already got great speed and some nice hands. Pretty sure this kid could be a great #2 receiver for us opposite Steve Smith and hes a hell of a returner to boot. At the very least he could be our version of what Desean Jackson is to the Eagles. Just sayin and wanted to know what you guys thought?

I think the panthers need to take a look at a couple QB and really investigate them and decide if they are worth taking. I don't think they should risk chancing our 2nd round pick on a guy with just potential. Otherwise I'd like for us to take a WR.

Next offseason/draft I think we need a WR, QB, draft a SS to back up Harris, and draft a pass blocking tackle to back up the LT spot.

Oh guys I know! We need a QB and we need one bad!!!! I myself like I;m sure the rest of you would want to see this organization pick up a QB. I was simply asking if he fell to the third (which has been pointed out may not happen) do we grab him? Sure we have some other needs along the line but I just dont think you can pass him up if hes still around in the third.

I would like to see McCoy as a Panther. The only problem with that is our inability to "groom" a rookie quarterback. I for one believe Colt has the talent to be a quality NFL quarterback, after a few years of quaility coaching. He has the size, the arm strength and pocket presence. The only problem, IMO, is coaching him away from running at the first sign of pressure.

mccoy will not need a few years to develop..i would expect who ever drafts him will start him as a rookie..

People seem to forget the amount of young 27 and under NFL backups are still out there who haven't gotten there chance yet or had minor stints like Tyler Thigpen, Matt Flynn, Kevin Kolb, and even Kellen Clemmons.

They hold the same amount or even more potential than some of the draft talent with less risk, smaller contracts. Its how many teams found their current starters.

He will need to be coached into the "drop back" quarterback mentality, otherwise he will get killed. He has speed, but it's not next level speed.

I hear ya man. Personally I would love to get Thigpen in here. My first choice woulda been Brian Brohm. Kid had loads of talent and his draft stock tumbled after coming back. But apparently Buffalo believes he could be the QB of their future. Still, you're completely right. There are loads of them but not many that could be had. Thigpen maybe... Flynn... maybe. Kolb? Go ahead and cross that one off. Clemmons? No thanks...

I'd love to see us go get a competent QB via free agency or trade or even let Moore start and get a weapon like Tate, Gilyard, Shipley with our first pick.
