2022 Draft / Best Player Available

I haven't heard this term much this draft season..  Best Player Available.  Maybe they only say it after they draft a position they don't need help in.

Most of us agree we need help at more than 1 position.  Defensive end,  Linebacker, Quarterback, Offensive Tackle.

We're probably solid at long snapper 😀,

Personally I think the quarterbacks available, aren't first round picks. Yes, every one of them has "potential " to be as great as Tom Brady. So I hope we don't use a 6th pick on a quarterback  and look more to the Offensive Tackle if available .

Trading back, in what the talking heads call a weak draft, might be hard. But should we be able to, I'd be ok  with a QB in the 3rd round.

Best Player Available.   Is that what we'll ( panthers )  will do ??  if so, who is that ?

Would it drive you crazy if it's Defensive Back  at 6 ? or a running back ?  etc..

Is Best Player Available a term of the past , no longer what GM's  think ?

The closer we get to the draft, the more I think BPA at 6 for us is Jordan Davis.

Defensive pick would piss off the fan base. Another DT would upset people too, but he (along with Neal) is a freak unicorn at a position we actually suck at.

It makes so much sense for us. Brown would look better instantly too.

Either way this top 10 is loaded with big guys and we should pick a lineman, whether offensive or defensive. Need lines up with BPA.

    • been living in town since March of last year after spending 15+ years out on a farm in the middle of nowhere.  Snow was beautiful out there, but always meant a lot of work dealing with the long driveway and long dirt road out and onto paved roads that were the last in the county to get plowed. On normal days it always took 20 minutes to get anywhere. when it snowed...yeah. forget about it for a couple days. still had to go to work, so i'd have to drive on all these narrow and windy snow covered backroads after dealing with my driveway and putting up with the nasty red mud slush on the dirt road. if there was an emergency or some kind of urgent issue that required you having someone drive in or going out, it was just a major stressor.  anyways, i'm just looking forward to snow in the new house in town, where my driveway is really short and the roads are plowed. i want snow that requires no work or stress on me. most people probably love the idea of being snowed in out in the country. been there. done that. i'm looking forward to snow coming in town and being able to get out and about if i need. hopefully we have some this year.
    • I don't think it will be a complete stomping at all. That's not really the 2024 KC team. They have only scored 30 points once this season(shootout versus TB) and their biggest margin of victory has been 13(vs. the Saints). I guess they clearly show better versus the NFC South but not THAT good. Not by their recent years standard.
