Dude its a top 10 pick.  WTF are you talking about now?

okay

to reiterate

again

the kind of QB you want

isnt getting to 8 or 9 overall

nor is the team possessing those top picks giving them to us just because you want them to

I give up dude, you are either being intentionally obtuse or you are really really moronic.   I am talking struggling to tie your shoes in the morning moronic.

"As we sit today"

It’s irrelevant to banking on next year’s draft. That’s the whole point. We could look way different at the start of the season. So all the “we will get a top 5 pick next year” is nonsense at this point.

We are not going to look way different from now to Sept.  We are going to either have a new LT or rookie QB or poo vet (Baker, Jimmy)  Outside of that the roster is pretty much as its going to be.

Watson, Mahomes, and Allen were picked after the 8th picked..

And the fact that every QB in this draft is predicted to be around after the top 10 should tell you something...

If your opinion is you don't get the QB you truly want after the 7th picked why would you want QBS all predicted not to be worthy of top 15 picks??

Even if that doesn't happen you still become a attractive destination for a vet option right??

And not be shunned like we have been that last 1 years...

What's to stop them from trading future 1st's to move up next season?

There's infinite ways to get in the top 3 if they want to, ask SF.

Maybe they will trade up, if a team is willing to trade with them. It seems like highly coveted college QBs are usually picked by the teams with the picks. Like Trevor Lawrence and Wilson last year. I know we seriously need both a franchise QB and LT.

Who Armstead who has played a full season in the last 2 years??

Who else??

I've named 3 teams that got their Franchise QB while building the team 1st..

Name me some Good LT on the free agent market??

I would gladly take a player like terron armstead, thanks, and the team should’ve been willing to get involved in the Collins and Brown discussion.

The pool of available OTs still has a number of guys I’d like to see them team sign, with teams no doubt waiting so they don’t have to guarantee their contracts but deals likely already in place in principle.

If we get one of the big 3 LTs in this draft and trade for Baker/Jimmy plus we have freed up money for an additional FA if we need, plus who knows what Rhule/Fitt will trade away. Just swapping out QBs in general makes this team very different. Baker and Jimmy shown they can get you into the playoffs with a string team around him. That’s not necessarily the route I want, but it’s a real option our staff is looking at.

so you think waiting until later in the draft is preferable for finding a franchise QB?

are we really still here? Is this about to be a Tom Brady in the 6th kind of thing?

there is a clear mathematical track record reiterating that the higher you pick, the better your chances of success at the QB position. The best prospects are going to go there. They aren’t going 9th overall. We can find outliers, but, as with Tom Brady and the 6th round, you don’t use outliers to build a battle strategy.
