ESPN's Rich Cimini reports Jets GM Joe Douglas is "smitten" with NC State OT Ikem Ekwonu.

Ekwonu is viewed by many as the top tackle in the draft, and the Jets could have their pick of the bunch at No. 4 overall if edge rushers Aidan Hutchinson, Travon Walker, and Kayvon Thibodeaux go with the first three selections. Ekwonu was believed to be in the mix at No. 1 to the Jaguars before LT Cam Robinson was franchised and subsequently locked up to a multi-year deal. If the top three edge rushers go with the first three picks, the Jets might be choosing between Ekwonu, OT Evan Neal, and CB Ahmad Gardner.

ESPN's Rich Cimini reports Jets LT Mekhi Becton weighed 400 pounds at one point last season.

Becton, the 11th overall pick in 2020, started 13 games as a rookie but then battled conditioning issues last summer before spraining his MCL in Week 1 only to never play again. It was believed to be a 4-6 weeks injury, not a season-ender, but Becton let himself go during rehab. There's tension between Becton's camp and the Jets. Cimini wouldn't completely write off a trade, especially if New York takes a tackle with one of its two top-10 picks Thursday night.

Russini says the Giants aren't trading out of 5, gonna try to move back from 7, so that helps us if our goal is indeed to trade back.

Jokes aside, Im up for a small risk for Phillys Dillard or Jets Beckum......I liked both coming out, long as the cost is low....and maybe 2023 favor....Jets owe us after the Darnold BS..

Could of figured that about Becton.  I don't get the infatuation with over-sized/overweight linemen.  Like the kid out of Minnesota, Faalele, dude will be a huge bust.  Yeah he's a monster, but he won't last in the League.
