I think a big part is the team has more than 1 hole to fill. And about the only way to get more picks is trading that 6th. If you look at most drafts, trading comes to end after the begining of the 4th.......which the panthers have pick 137 thats 31 away form the start. That late 4th has nearly no trade value. So unless Burns/Brown/______ is getting moved(ultra rare on draft day), the only means to add multiple lotto tickets is trading the 6th overall for a teams 1st, 2nd, and 6th.

Ick and Neal may not be there and Cross for me is not worth 6th overall when a stud edge is there.

We do have lots of holes.  I like the odds of trying to really solve one with the #6.  Quality prospect over quantity approach.  I think this is an OT draft.

these clowns shouldn’t of traded way all our picks.

I won’t throw a fit over a DL or OL though.  But these clowns probably trade down a bunch and go with the quantity approach.  I do think Rhule wants a rookie QB who he can thrust out there in some face saving move.  To play the “of course we suck card” he is a rookie.

Apparently some view him as a two down player. If he does end up being that, it would be a massive overdraft to take him top 10.

Id 100% draft him in the top ten. Plus gutt-busting LOLLLOLOLOL at thinking he should come off the field. He may have had the most impressive combine in history and all his SEC snaps were havoc. I think he needs to be doubled week 1. If he doesnt go top ten, the league has failed.

AW, did you need to come to his rescue?

5 Offensive picks in last years draft. 3 well respect Offensive FA this year. But hey, you guys are the bomb.

You guys will spin anything to fit your agenda. Face facts, we have spend resources on Offense. And Georgie Boy said otherwise. Him wrong. But I guarantee he will not admit it.

If…..

1st round. - Defense

4th round - Defense

5th, 6th and 7th round all offense

you would call that an offensive draft.  More offense than defense. It wouldn’t be investing in the O with our draft capital.

Rhule has used our draft capital to date on our D.

Its not talked about, but i think next years cap is in the red right now. Thats without a QB..........one solution is a rookie QB salary is awful low...

The debate about Quality prospect over quantity, is one of those never ending ones like poor people and climate. For me I look at the roster, if its a deeeeep proven team- gimme the quality. If is not- gimme the quantity. Simply put panthers need quantity.

Thursday is golf day. Not sure I'll even watch it. But I might check this place out depending on how it goes. You?

Going to be cool that thrusday, pack a jacket! I brought some RRR (rich&rare reverse) on special. No food until I caught my buzzz.

I think the draft starts at the panthers pick, if they trade back, I will stay til the whiskey wins. If they make a pick, re-watch the new batman movie.....it was bad the first time..

I don’t really disagree in theory.  I would have preferred when we hired Rhule and the Cam era ended (and Luke walked) we went into draft pick accumulation mode.   And started stockpiling draft picks at the cost of certain players on the roster.

but we didn’t.  I’d rather buy a 10 dollar lotto ticket than a bunch of 1 dollar tickets given where we are.

but I really don’t care.  Just don’t want a QB in the first.  Rather do that in a better QB draft.   Last draft was the year for QB IMO.  We messed that up too.

I think if the OTs are gone by 6, there will be Sauce, Thibodeaux, or Walker on the board.  Some team will want to move up for one.  We trade back, grab the QB and maybe a G in round 2.  We go with BC at LT, the new G at LG, Bozeman, Corbett, and Moton.  The QB--Ridder or Howell.

IF we get a trade back---if not, we might bite the bullet on a QB (Willis/Pickett). I HOPE NOT.

Did you read his post? This is what he said. "Under Rhule we've spent all our draft assets on D while trying to build an O off the NFL's trash heap."

We used a 2nd, and a 3rd on Offense. But I guess those 2 picks don't count. lol

How can we have 5 Offensive Draft picks, and at least 3 quality FA, while spending all our draft capital on D, and trash bin diving?

You folks kill me. Make up a fact, and expect to get away with it.

I blame hernaiy for most of that, he never never believed in a true rebuild ala stock pile picks.....he always thought his team had a opportunity. I think they lost nearly 60% of the total snaps and stats......huge loss no matter the coach.

2023 should be a better QB draft, but Im no future teller.  Rhule QB decisions have been painful, wish stanford agreed to come and it would have saved the Sam Darnold trade... dem the brakes.

I wouldn't be against drafting him but I am not gonna say that he is a sure thing.

Yeah, another problem is the not keeping the GM/HC in sync.  We didn’t need Rhule learning from Marty.   Crossing of eras IMO is problematic.

and Rhule talks like you suggested.  In the same breath he talks about rebuilding he talks about winning now too.  Doing both.
