The idea that people are mad at Tepper for pulling out of a project when the Panthers aren't the ones who didn't uphold their end of the bargain is baffling to me.  There are tons of reasons to be upset at David Tepper, this isn't one of them.  This makes sense.  Deal is made, one side doesn't uphold their end of said deal, deal goes poof.  There's no intrinsic right for either side to go "bruh we fuged that up, let's just unilaterally change how we're going to deliver on our part then expect an immediate positive response".

Any reference to his *ability* to pay for the entire thing on his own is irrelevant.  Fact is he doesn't owe that (large regardless of his net worth) amount of money to the community, the city, the county, or fans who for some reason wanted to go to Rock Hill.  The measure of Tepper's personal wealth is only relevant if we just don't like rich people being rich and want them to be less rich simply because they can afford to be or we're selfish / entitled and just want things handed to us fug how it happens.  Neither is a look I want to wear, personally.

Frankly there's a certain amount of needing to know who you're across the table with that I feel like the various government entities involved here didn't manage as well.  Why give even the impression of mucking around after a deal was in place when they held no real leverage, the Panthers could just give them the finger then walk away, and the owner has shown himself to be the sort who has the finger ready to deploy?  They didn't just shoot themselves in the foot, they aimed first.

he agreed to pay rhule the money. he didn't agree to whatever is going on in rock hill.

Rock Hill still agreed to pay. They signed a contract. They did it because they wanted the HQ in their town instead of CLT or somewhere else. Giving the money was their only way to attract this project.

They made a promise to build the (public) roads leading to the HQ and then couldn’t follow through. Completely on them.

Yeah, people keep acting like we have the facts.  We haven’t because the hope of completing the project always existed and you can’t lay it all out there that being the case.   The facts on both sides won’t really come out until there is no hope of salvaging it.  Then it comes out.   Which we look to be nearing.

Tepper knowingly and intentionally entered this deal with a city that everyone knew could face some hiccups/issues in regards to the project.  Was talked about before it ever started.    

and we don’t know the facts and talks yet between both parties.  It’s silly to go all in on a side being right/wrong IMO right now.  I suspect both will rightfully look bad in the end.

We'll be hearing more about this. The optics for the moment are what they are. Tepper with another L after taking his ball and going home. Just prepare for the very real possibility of seeing more of that.

You are awfully selective on when we "have the facts."  Dude, you talk a lot of stuff that you don't "have the facts"  because we hear stuff through news and twitter.  We never have all the facts, we always form an opinion on the limited knowledge we have.

Huh? That’s not selective.  That’s just life/people.  

when this blows up officially….we get more info.  Because the hopes of completing it is gone from the equation. 

The safe bet is both sides look pretty bad in the end.  That ain’t radical or bias.   Some folks jumping way too quick on the it is ALL Rock Hill to blame and none to Tepper bandwagon. 

we still know very little.  Later we will know more.  It is what it is.  Seems knowing more would put us in better position to take a stand on this topic.
