It's rather him or JG, who just had surgery on his throwing shoulder, or Minshew. Of the 3, I'd rather Baker.

I'm okay with rolling the dice on Baker IF we can unload Darnold and get Cleveland to eat some of his salary.

It's probably not gonna work out, but just clean house after the season. If we do this, I'd prefer to trade #6 for future picks for the next regime but zero chance of that happening.

as long as this nets us a franchise LT, im good on the idea. Next year we can trade the house for a top QBV prospect if this doesnt work out. We would be a QB away from being seriously competitive.

Agreed. My only issue with this strategy is there are five teams that have 2 first round picks in the 2023 draft. They all are qb needy teams as well. Jist not sure how we can put together a package to match. 

In short, we need to be terrible this year. If thats the case, why not just stick with legohead?

I would take an even trade - Darnold for Mayfield. Darnold gets to back up Watson and they don't have to carry the baggage of a keeping him. Nobody will trade a pick for him. Why not? Not sold on Mayfield but he'll have something to prove.
