I'm honestly not sure if he would've looked much if any different than Sam Darnold for us last year.

When he has to press he has some Darnold level turnovers.

On the flip side, trying to convince yourself that Jimmy G is the option like you almost certainly did with Teddy and Sam Darnold previously is Huddle logic at it's worst.

At this point, I just want NFL competent.  Just NFL competent 

Get the ball to the play makers and 

1. Don’t look like a deer in the head lights when the first read isn’t there …ie process quickly 

2. Don’t be stupid. 

 Surely, somewhere in the NFL universe those two things can exist in a qb for the Panthers 

I know it isn’t Darnold.  It never was going to be Darnold   See number 1 and 2   The only person in said nfl universe who thought it was, was Rhule

when the plays were there to be made, he did not make them 

Teddy, is, and always will be a backup.  He was meant to be a placeholder for one year 

We know the rest (why and who wanted him in Charlotte)   He is backup now.

Right  now, this franchise and fan base needs competent.  I don’t care who it is.  Can be a Tannehill clone for all I care 

if there is another ‘can’t miss prospective ‘ in 2023 as people  on here think there is, fine, trade the  future draft choices and go get that player.  

this franchise has zero hope and offense has looked like a total cluster fug

I think people are confusing flashy with clutch. How many QBs have bailed their team out more than 42% of the time when trailing in the 4th quarter? I will let you dig. You'll find out Jimmy G is #1. There are only 6 starting QBs in the NFL who have more playoff game winning drives than Jimmy G.

Jimmy G is far from flashy, but give him the respect of being the #1 active clutch QB in the NFL. It's not Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes.

If you had a shot at a QB who has proven he can come up clutch against the Rams, Bengals, and Packers, would you want that QB leading your team?

If Darnold or Bridgewater could do what Jimmy G did to the Rams, Bengals, and Packers after the defense implodes, there is no QB discussion and we'd be talking about how the Panthers have found their franchise QB.
