4/8 vs Isles

Once NY got the lead, they played Hurricane style D- just stood up at the blue line and let nothing past, content to clear the zone and not mount any offense that would risk putting themselves out of position.

But the game winner was the failure of anyone to get to the net and the defender to get behind Palmieri on his hip instead of next to him. Take the penalty for 14 seconds, do something but give him an angle inside 10' with nothing but Freddie in front of him. Slash him across the hands, break his stick...

Talked with a media member for the Canes. Definitely not coaching. More just players not getting it done. They have lost confidence and need a few games of dominating to get that feeling back. Also, belief is there are to many line shuffles and the players just need to push through it. That combined with the bad play they just can’t gel.

We are running out of time for that.

They better wake up tomorrow.

    • That got me thinking and so I had to look. 17 fuging years now. Wow.
    • Great write up. I think we're going to try to keep both of the guys we've gotten from the Vikings on that DE/OLB rotation. I don't think they ever had the chance to get up to speed together. And I really agree with you about Clowney.  I really think this room really is going to depend on whether our long-term goal is to continue with 3-4 (I hope not) or go back to 4-3 full time. I'm hoping the safety situation and the LB situation don't end up biting us in the butt. I just don't see where we've gotten better there yet. I hope I'm wrong about this. O-line... just when things are jelling, you find out this might be the last season the group can expect to be together... that's just our history here. Again. Any thoughts on Moose's kid, Moose 3, coming as an undrafted FA WR?
    • That’s interesting to know. He’s adjusting and conditioning to what feels like the optimal situation for him. I’ll tell you, sounds like he’s been coached very well to recognize those things, have the strong run game skills and continuing to build out his moveset. He really seems like a high floor guy that I’m just surprised lasted that long. Feel really string about him and Princely. Just tough guys with good experience, size, skills, there’s no weird outlier question marks with either of them.
