Yeah, I honestly didn't much care for RG3 but that was hard to watch. I legit felt bad for him.

Yes, it was. I thought he was being overhyped too because I thought injuries would be an issue but I never disliked the kid. When I was watching that game I was yelling at the TV "take him out, take him out! He's hurt. You're going to get him killed!" I had to turn off the game and go sit outside to calm down when he went down the last time. I'm an emotional guy and that bothered me in so many ways. But mainly I was just disgusted.

I mean, it was BAD. It was hard to watch Cam out there playing with a bad shoulder, but at least he still had his legs. RG3 was a sitting duck out there. Couldn't move. Couldn't step into throws. From a human standpoint, you want to protect the guy in that situation and not leave him out there exposed. From a sheer football perspective, your backup QB has to be a better option at that point. There's just no reason for him to have still been on the field in that condition.

Yes. For me it wasn't even the football point but the human point. There was no way he should have been on that field. I don't usually yell at my TV that way but I knew he was in danger out there. I'd only seen that once before. I think it was Bernie Kosar with the Browns playing on a broken foot but he never appeared in danger only injured. RG3 looked in danger to me in that game and he was.

Quoting the wise old sage, Benny Hill...

They thought that it could not be done
Some even said they knew it
But he faced what they said could not be done...
And he couldn't bloody do it

The Panthers had success with and undersized, overaged linebacker in Sam Mills. But as much respect as I have for Sam, that's not a path I'd recommend pursuing again.

I've seen a lot of teams tell themselves that they could do a certain thing because they've seen someone else do it, and more often than not they're wrong.

It's always great when somebody does achieve something difficult or unusual, but there's generally a reason why it's looked at that way.

Oh I’m definitely not saying it’s the right call. Our staff is bottom of the league right now. They just think they are better than they are IMO…

Interesting his name comes up. The more recent ones are Mahomes and Allen, but I agree we not the best equipped to develop/mold a young QB.

Mahomes and Allen are QBs playing the QB position.  Willis is a RB playing the QB position.  Willis should never be compared to either of these players.  There is no comparison.

I just don’t think any of these QBs make our team any better than Sam Darnold this year, so why try to force the issue? The best bet, as Fitt has alluded to, is fortify the offensive and defensive lines and prepare for the futur.

"Raw." "High ceiling." I heard the same things being said about RGIII. Not encouraging. Especially with our track record of "developing" and protecting QBs.

RG3 would have been a elite QB if not for a biological disadvantage(core muscles). I actually went to a symposium that was about athletic training and he was an example. He was simply not built physically to take the punishment of the NFL.

A RB with more passing yards than Allen his final year? A RB with the similar passing yards Cam had his year at Auburn? If you don’t like the prospect I can understand that. He still needs to be developed and from Liberty to NFL is a huge talent gap. I honestly think he is better off not coming here because I don’t think we are the team to develop him. You are just speaking nonsense though…

Still no comparison.  Competition level was much greater.  Plus Josh Allen didn't have accuracy issues.

Ok now you are just throwing poo at a wall to see what sticks. Josh Allen had a 56.2% completion rate against weak competition in college. Willis is at 62.7%, but at least you tried… kind of…

As you may or may not noticed I didn't compare completion rates because in college it is very obscure.  How many drops and of course as you pointed out Allen didn't throw as much so a couple more drops here and there will definitely lower the rate..  I think you can see his accuracy now.

Willis will not be so lucky.    He's a 6 foot running QB that will get destroyed in the NFL.

    • I'd rather figure out a way to get Howell from Seattle.  I think he would do really well in Canales offense.  I also think Howell would do great with this offensive line. Thoughts?
    • 30 points a game. People were hoping to get 17-21 with Young at Qb. This week will be a tougher defense sure would be nice to eat off their plate.
