Bruce Willis - End of an Era

I don't know if you guys have been following Bruce Willis' career of late, but over the last 2 years he's starred in over a dozen terrible direct-to-streaming "Geezer Teasers." Just to give you an idea of how many and their quality, here's his Rotten Tomatoes since 2020:

No Score Yet   Fortress: Sniper's Eye Robert (Character) - 2022
No Score Yet   A Day to Die Alston (Character) - 2022
6%   Gasoline Alley Detective Freeman (Character) - 2022
No Score Yet   Vendetta Donnie Fetter (Character) - 2022
0%   American Siege Ben Watts (Character) - 2021
20%   Fortress Robert (Character) - 2021
No Score Yet   Deadlock Ron Whitlock (Character) - 2021
0%   Apex Thomas Malone (Character) - 2021
14%   Survive the Game David (Character) - 2021
8%   Midnight in the Switchgrass Karl (Character) - 2021
0%   Out of Death Jack Harris (Character) - 2021
3%   Cosmic Sin James Ford (Character) - 2021
20%   Breach Clay Young (Character) - 2020
0%   Hard Kill Chalmers (Character) - 2020
14%   Survive the Night Frank (Character) - 2020

There's been a lot of speculation recently as to why, and some of the darker theories were confirmed yesterday when it was revealed that Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with Aphasia, and is retiring from acting.

It seems this glut of recent low-effort bombs may have been an effort to rake in as much money as possible for him and his family to live off for the rest of his days.

It's an incredibly sad development, and I wanted to doff my cap and celebrate the career of one of the last great action movie heroes, and one of the first to make bald look cool!

The guy had some of the greatest movies of the last 35 years.

Die Hard.

The Fifth Element.

Unbreakable.

Last Man Standing.

Bonfire of the Vanities

The Sixth Sense.

Pulp Fiction.

12 Monkeys.

And Hudson Hawk is a movie I dearly love for all of its fever-dream goofiness.

I wish him and his family well.

An incredible career regardless. One of the coolest actors ever for sure

That's a pity as Willis cemented himself as one of the world's top action stars with Die Hard. He didn't have Arnold Schwarzenegger's body or Jean-Claude Van Damme's training, but he was a man of the people, and the people have embraced his numerous everyman heroes through the years. 😪
