I mean, your title had a question mark at the end--and there is enough here to suggest that they might be leaning Willis.

Well he said from what he's hearing which is basically a rumor.. I don't want to flat out say Panthers are favoring Willis since it didn't come from anyone within the organization. So I made it questionable..

I wouldn't necessarily call it a smokescreen, but I would say that at this point the decision is still incomplete.

Scott Fitterer mentioned that the next step in the process is going to be to go back and review game film on all of the players they're looking at.

A pro day setting might favor Willis, but I'm not so sure the game tape will.

What about a whole week of practice where they all were on equal footing in a setting where Rhule himself coached last season where they got to see them in all conditions wind and equal competition? There was no liberty handicap or line deficiencies and the universal consensus was Willis came out looking the best of the bunch.

Not to say years of tape and all their careers go down the drain. But again some time the tape doesn't tell the whole story and why we scout traits and things that project at the next level. Without that no way Josh Allen goes as high as he did and he proved them right.

I think it will be Pickett and honestly the difference in hand size between him and Burrow is like:

|_______|

1/2 inch

3/8s of an inch! He stretched it 1/8 extra at his Pro Day.  If people are going to freak out about 1/2 inch, 1/8 is also a big deal right?

Also if Neal or Icky are there, they are the pick IMO.

What if between those 3... they are attempting to get one of the Giants picks  to select Willis and a left tackle. If we were willing to trade future 1st... we definitely  may try to do the same this route too. When I heard Scott speak on finances... this would be the most cost effective way. Your starting left tackle and Qb on a rookie contract while you build the rest of the team.

That's actually not a universal consensus.

I have seen some say that Willis looked the best, but also others that said Pickett did. The most common analysis I've seen since the Senior Bowl though is that it didn't change a lot of opinions about the quarterback class.

Mind you, depending on what you search, you can find pretty much any opinion you want. There was a lot of variance.

I am not a fan of " he put up numbers in college" plenty of players do that and fail. You have to have traits that project at the next level things that make you better than the next that can be taken advantage of. A few years ago everyone was all up and sure about clelin ferrell because he was good in college and was putting up double digit sacks.

Combine comes around he runs a horrible time and that's red flag number 1 for me. The tape won't tell you he was surrounded by 3 other first rounders and that allowed him to get minimum attention and made him look better than he was. Tape doesn't always tell the whole story.. there are factors in everything.

I pray Detroit takes him before we get a chance to.

Why would we want a athletic QB, with a great arm but couldn't hit a bull in the butt with a Banjo.

We already have a QB like that on the roster.  PJ Walker.

You must not have watch any of his throwing sessions

He's a talent but for the life of me I cannot explain the hype he's getting.  Any other draft and his 2021 performance would have him an 2nd or 3rd round pick.

He runs too often,  He's highly inaccurate but he throws a nice ball.  That's all good just that it most likely will end up with the wrong colored jersey.

Of course you can find people who stick to there gun but if you type in senior bowl qb rankings or senior bowl standout the name that generally* comes up is Willis.. I don't see oh Kenny Pickett really shined or Strong... on overall winners Willis is about universally on every list as a guy that stood out. And I'm not saying I'm he's a sure fire thing I'm just telling you what I see in a quick Google search.

I did watch him throw in some shorts and a t-shirt. Not getting pressured to wide open wrs. I also watch some of his game film and it’s not good. So maybe you should go watch some of that?

Throwing sessions don't mean squat.  I love how Howell gets the "it's in shorts and no defense" but Willis gets "You must not have watch any of his throwing sessions"

I've seen some of his highlights and 1/2 of them are him running.  His throws are inaccurate and in the NFL that means a high interception rate.
