Most teams lose because they don't know why they lost.

With all of the sheer hatred toward Rhule... hatred  so intense that "fans" are rooting for us to lose before we have even started the season.   I wonder what the Huddle will be like if Rhule is kept on board again next year.

For the hundredth time, fully expecting to continue losing based on years of experience is not the same as 'rooting to lose'. There are comments here and there about someone hoping the team loses so Rhule is fired/the team tanks/etc, but overall it's just people not expecting lead to suddenly turn to gold.

I'm not impressed by Rhule but it will be funny when all these people walk back their takes and pretend it never happened if Rhule ends up winning, just like they did with Ron Rivera

It's perfectly reasonable to change an opinion if Rhule manages to become a good coach but let's be real here about Ron. He had 1 great season, 1 very good season, and 1 good season here all while riding true generational talent on both sides of the ball. The rest of his time here was average or below. He was not and is not a consistent winner, and flashes in the pan don't change that.

I agree with you, doesn't stop the fact that people were practically blowing him that 2012-13 season when he turned into Riverboat Ron and pretended like they didn't just absolutely hate him when they started 0-2, moderators included

After making the playoffs? The opinions on Rhule will change.

He has zero benefit of the doubt currently. He deserves that.

I'm not sure your definition of "comments here and there" is the same as the rest of the world's.  Its on every thread. On the QB choice thread people want Darnold, not because they want the best QB, but because they want to lose.

It's the same people saying it, and those are a small (but vocal) part of the total from what I see. I am definitely a Rhule pessimist and expect to keep losing, but am not actively hoping that we lose even if I accept the possibility. That seems the more common opinion.

No, we want to stop throwing away assets and money...while continuing to lose...there is a difference.

Exactly. I don't expect him to become a winning coach, not here. No deep playoff run. Definitely no championship. I see no reason to believe he's capable of this. He has only ever given reason to doubt he knows what he's doing.

I seriously doubt many here are "rooting" for the team to lose. I know I'm not. I expect us to lose because Rhule has to totally be fugged up this team and only knows how to dig the hole deeper.

I hope I'm wrong and will gladly admit I was. I just have no reason to believe I am.

The bar is set quite high for this season for what I deem success  A deep playoff run or nothing else because that's where we should be if we had a competent coach at this point in his tenure. Just bring better than last year is not acceptable. That's what last year was supposed to be about, and we weren't.

And don't give me stats or metrics "proving" he was better. The only real metric that matters is winning, and he didn't. It doesn't matter how good your offense or defense is if you don't have wins.

Unfortunately, you can't skip a year and just bank for the next.  You have to field a team and play games.  Cleveland tried that shlt.  I don't know why so many people are impressed with the Browns model.  "Lets get a new head coach every 2 years, and try to lose while saving cash and picks for out years.  "     It didn't work as planned.

So you support Signing Teddy and overpaying for him...only to overpay in a trade for Darnold, only to pick up his 5th year option for no reason...now looking to move on again...because.

What this staff has proven, is that they A. don't know what they are looking for in a QB, and B. don't know how to evaluate QB's.  That's.....not good.

Now we want to throw away more asset's for yet another QB while we have no clue if the staff can properly build an offense nor evaluate the position.

I don't want Rhule to lose, I want him to dance with the date he brought, and BOUGHT.

I hate the Cam/Teddy/Sam/PJ/Cam debacle.  I don't agree with the notion: well, we fcked up so lets just suck this year.

We have a flat tire, lets get out slash the other 3.   Welcome to the Browns.

Yup, also what's the difference in aggressively swapping out QB's because they aren't it, or doing the same with coaches when they aren't it? If Rhule get's another chance his guy Sam should be who he gets a chance with. Don't understand the people that want to be patient with a coach who's dug himself in a hole because he's impatient with his players

No, we have a drunk driver behind the wheel of an old K car with a blown head gasket and no headlights.

You cannot trust this car, nor the driver any longer...but sure, let's put another couple thousand in her and see if we can squeeze out another 28 miles.
