That’s not how this franchise is thinking. Only Rhule can save his own job by having a winning season. No draft pick “saves rhules job”

The franchise drafts players that improve the team, not players that improve a coach’s chance of keeping his job. We can move on from this silly thought process

It’s not that silly of a thought process IF Rhule still has roster control. Taking a tackle and looking at next year’s QB class is the safer/long term route. Rhule is on the hot seat and next year (in theory) should make or break him. @micnificent28is saying drafting a LT like Cross for example and rolling out Darnold again probably won’t get us many more wins NEXT year. Swapping out Darnold for Pickett (most pro ready) might be his best shot at increasing our wins next year. If Rhule wants to keep his job he needs results ASAP. It’s one of the many reasons it’s foolish to have a coach like Rhule with roster control. Hopefully he no longer has full control ( these recent FAs seem like someone else is calling the shots) and we have nothing to worry about.

The franchises job isn't on the line. The franchises will go on with or without rhule. Tepper has made it very clear how he feels about marquee quarterbacks. If darnold is as as bad as he was last year it doesn't matter who is blocking for him. He won't win enough games to get another chance at drafting a qb next year.

I think we as fans might want a tackle and rhule might a well. But honestly does Evan Neal make us challenge for the playoffs? If not rhule is fired...

Thank you exactly.
