Is the Dream of one of the top 2 tackles dead?

Look at the board and it being a numbers game a few devastating developments seem to be unavoidable now. Before there was a chance one wild move like somebody taking Willis before us would push Neal or icky down. Seems like with the fall of kayvon and the 4.7 by Hamilton none of the teams ahead of us are probably excited to pick either of those 2.

Sure Willis combine and pro day rise helps our cause but, he would be replacing just one of the top guys that were already expected to be gone. With the way things are looking maybe even Cross could be pushed up but it's not a sure thing. For us to land Neal or icky I think walker and another prospect has to rise to replace the guys that got pushed down. Maybe sauce Gardner?

Looks pretty grim tho. As much as I think Willis is the better longer term qb spot the this team seems like prefers the more conservative approach with Pickett. What say you..

I have already accepted the fact that Kenny Pickett will be our QB for the next few years at the least so I'm not even worried about it.

This, and I'm NOT a fan til' proven other wise, he seems like just an average NFL QB, no skills / attributes that he offers elite status in which lowers the potential to be really good at the NFL level.

Most scouts reference ''enough'' arm strength / athleticism, and I'm not a fan of him being I believe 24, or he'll be turning 24 during TC (Darnold is 24, and has 4 years in the NFL already).

I'm not a fan of old rookie QBs -- we're not a playoff competitor with Pickett, so give me upside in a draft pick over the best on day 1, but likely not the best over time.

what kind of loser fanbase sits around and “dreams” for a “top Tackle” when you have an opportunity to actually turn your franchise around with a difference maker at QB

What a terrible take. You probably complained endlessly about how bad the line was last year. Through free agency and the draft, we have a chance to finally make it decent, even above average.

But no, geniuses like you would rather waste a top 10 pick on quarterbacks who normally wouldn’t be drafted before round 2. Brilliant.

who is trading up?  And why are they trading up?

Philly, KC would be two really obvious trade up candidates if elite rushers start to fall. KC was piss poor in getting after the QB this year. Bottom of thr league in sacks. If Walker or Thibodeux or (less likely) Aiden Hutchinson fall to 6 then I could see either of those teams trying to make a jump. Philly wants to win while Hurts is on a rookie deal. Time is running out for a team that already has a lot of pieces and a ton of draft capital.

    • They gave him franchise QB money. Sorry but if you don't earn it you can be embarrassed.   He's rich he can take it. Stop feeling sorry for people who can't live up to their contract. This isn't a sport to be soft. Daniels deserves to give back some of that money he stole if you ask me.
    • And it was coming off of a bye week. Perhaps he should vacation a bit in Germany in the off season, something certainly seemed to help him there.  No, really... He showed maturation and the possibility that he's turning a corner. That wasn't the NY Giants out there, but the back to back Super Bowl champions with the #3 defense in the league, with them coming off of a prime time loss. And that was a 9-1 team we just played literally down to the last second. Bryce played so well that maybe, maybe he wins over some nay-sayers. It's still early, though, but what a nice breath of fresh air that was. You can win quite a few games if that is your normal performance. It is obvious that we are still on the learning curve, though. But that was one helluva test he just took. Some of these QBs coming out of college just don't have a lot of games under their belts, especially in top end programs. They are perhaps just a year to two years behind center in games that matter before they move up. It can take them some time to hit their stride. We can still be cautious about our future and still celebrate a great game by the kid, though, and we should. He earned the laurels today, or had before they were snatched away at the last second.
