The business side says go with Willis because of the upside and if he doesn't show progress with this staff start over next year. If the new staff likes Willis let them develop him.

The personal side don't do a kid that way with this staff. Don't draft him and him get screwed up by this group.

This is such a fallacy for so many reasons

I would have picked Sam but not an option. It's the QB this staff deserves.

I am not sold on this class of QBs, especially when you match them to our staff and situation. I also don't want to spend on Vets again after the last 2 years. I think Meh is restrained at this point in the 'process'.

I should have included Sam--I was not clear-I should have stated it as the addition of the 3rd QB.

When he's still throwing backbreaking interceptions will you Darnold fans be gone finally? It might be worth it for that.

Its not about being a darnold fan, its about making Rhule fix his mistake and not overdrafting some scrub qb to try and save his job.  Tepper should be like "hell no dough boy, you gave up assets for darnold, said he was talented, now go make it work"

Would have chosen Sam, if he were an option, as that's what I would prefer to see this season..no more money spent or picks wasted by this coaching staff.

That said, my answer depends on what happens in the draft.  I don't want Jimmy on this team...he just get's us into a position that we may have to keep Rhule, even if we didn't want to...say 9 wins and we miss the playoffs.

If I'm picking at 6, I don't want a rookie.  If we just HAVE TO HAVE ONE in the 1st, please trade back for an additional 2nd.

I'd prefer to sit and take the best OT that's available, and roll with Sam.

I really like Corral and would like him on our team. But part of me feels like Tepper is fed up. He gave Rhule Bridgewater and results sucked. He gave Rhule Darnold….even worse. My gut feeling is that Tepper told Fitt: “If we take another QB and don’t get other premier players…and that Qb sucks then it’s both your asses.”

The good news is I think both Rhule and Fitt are making FOR SURE that if there is a QB other than SD this year then it’s one of two scenarios:

1. A veteran they KNOW is an upgrade - Carr (if his contract falls through) or Murray at this point. This is why they aren’t interested in Baker.

2. A Rookie QB who comes in WITH a BPA option as either a second 1st round pick or a high 2nd round pick.

Idt there is ANY WAY in hell that Fitterer is hitching his wagon to one of these rookies as his only 1st round pick. No way does that happen. It’s professional suicide (with this organization). If the rookie sucks then Tepper is going to be so pissed he’ll fire Rhule and Tepper for risking it all again with a sole pick of a QB.

So….only way the rookie happens imo is if we trade down.

It should be about what's best for the Panthers not Sam Darnold or Matt Rhule. If it's best for us to send the mole packing even if we have to eat the cap hit then do it. Stop kissing frogs as Florio said.

You are thinking short term, I am thinking long term.  Getting some poo vet in here to win 7-8 games isnt going to do jack poo in the grand scheme of things

If that's the case than we wasted a ton of money on decent free agents.  Why sign all these players if we are playing for 2023.

I imagine the NFL frowns on teams not competing.  The guys on a 1-year (Haynes, Bozeman, Littleton, and Loanidas) are all on pretty cheap deals.  I imagine they can find similar players next year or maybe these guys return.

We have 6 picks this year and we should have a full complement next year.  We only roster 53 guys so everyone can't be on a 2+ year contract and expect all draftees to make the team.  Keep your homegrown talent and build through the draft means a few 1-year contracts along the way.

I think they believe they can be competitive throughout the year if things come together and CMC plays a full year.  If we are hovering around .500 and in the playoff picture, fans will remain engaged and tuning in.  Hell, we were above .500 last year when CMC played, despite the Darnold and a horrendous offense (scheme and OL).

This roster will not win a superb owl, but hopefully it will compete.

I don't know him personally ,but I'm pulling for the guy.  He's probably the starting QB for my favorite NFL team.  I guess that makes me a fan?

Excuse me sir I am a Panthers fan first. Continuing with the worst starting QB in years (check the stats) to appease his fans is not helpful to my team.

    • Rhule was GM for 2020 and 2021/final say/total control/______/head cheese   Then afters years of trying to find a QB, trepper issued a order to get one at all cost. Even without BY fumble and after the rhule driving the draft/FAs(member erving and elf lollolols) fittererererer was no improvement.
    • Let him play when he is 100% healthy. Still room to learn and improve.
