I beat up the Panthers front office for alot of things. But drafting Jonathan Stewart is one of the best moves they've made IMO. :sifone:

with carolina determined not to lean completely on it's run game even with an unproven QB at the helm, it looks like a 1k yard season for stewart is about as probable as the panthers making the playoffs.

with only 3 games left, it looks like stewart will at least match last season's total with roughly the same number of touches.

with 209 yards, he will have a better second season than all of the panthers' all time leading rushers with the exception of anthony johnson.

depending on the extent of williams's injury and how they decide to play him over the next couple of weeks, things could be on the up and up for stewart's production.

Another pointless stat that I really want to see, Smitty with 1000 yards. It would be the first time since 2002 that Smitty didn't put up 1000 in a season. After last night though I think he will do it. Only needs 78 yards.

A 1000 yd receiver, two-1000yd runningbacks......if we could produce those numbers in a lackluster season, well, that is a testament to the fight that is still on this team, and gives a bright outlook for next season, imo

Now you have me wondering. How many teams in NFL history have had 2 x 1000 yd rushers.

Wouldn't it be awesome. Stewart get about 125 next week. Knowing he only needs about 75 to get the 1000 yd mark. New Orleans tries so hard to prevent it like we prevented D. Brees from getting Dan Marino's record last season that we blow New Orleans out and both Smitty and Stewart get their 1K years.

When its all said and done, Jonathan Stewart will end up being the most productive back this team has ever had. No other back in our teams history has gotten off to the start he has.
