Sorry, Rhule doesn't have the track record for me to buy stuff like "I think he’s an amazing leader". This is the same guy who said "I'm unbelievably excited to get to work with Cam" not long after he was was hired. I just don't buy it.

There it is. They wanted to use Cam as PR move to offset the backlash if they got Watson. Ugh. I'm so over Rhule and Tepper at this point.

I could see this happening very easy. I would love to see the Panthers draft Willis, let him sit and develop a year, sign Cam to a reasonable contract to be back QB, release or trade P.J. Walker and sign a good LT.

This would allow the Panthers to ride out Darnolds season ending contract for better or worse and create a solid foundation going into next season .

He wants/deserves that contract he never got. That's probably the crux. The team is hesitant to do a multi-year. Maybe Cam wants to see what they do in the draft so he doesn't get cheesey mac'd right away and they can deal based upon that or not.
