I'm sure they've asked him what he's willing to take to come un for another year if they can't get someone else.

Put yourself in his shoes, would you do it?

You would be benched the first time you had a bad game for Darnold.

Then you would get to start after Darnold has a bad game.

Round and round you go for a full year before you are right back where you are now.

Sound enticing to you?

It's reality. He did that in 2020 ..

For Cam being the best Panthers QB of all time he doesn't get the overwhelming support he should. I understand Patriots fans when Tom Brady was getting long in the tooth but as limited as this franchise is in attracting elite QBs and Cams relatively young age why not root for Cam?

We watched year after year this huge talent wasted, even recently. When Cam had an elite WR his numbers were unworldly. He had Smitty on his record setting rookie year and nobody like Smitty until DJ who in DJs first year had DJ looking like an all pro then Cam was gone. Despite not having an elite WR he went 15-1 as a QB while taking an absolute licking while he kept on ticking on his way to the Superbowl.

Cam is a legend. If you love the Panthers and you don't love this guy who Keeps Pounding, didn't give up, wouldn't go down who ate here lived here, gave so much to the community both on the field and off the field I really question your diehardedness.

He was ready when we'd f'd up so bad we had to call. He came in and all of a sudden we were scoring again. He ran over two grown men for a TD for another NFL record rushing TD and threw a couple off his couch. Then he got basically overRhuled, stupidly. Rhule wanted the wheel back.

McAdoo is here. Wilkes is back. Tabor signed up. There is no more proof other than a footprint on Rhules behind that the organization is tired of losing. It tells me they themselves figured out that rebuilding is for losers and is an excuse to retreat as an organization instead of fixing on the fly and continue winning. It's an excuse.

None of those guys came here to lose. All of those guys in their own respect are talented NFL coaches where there were none. The NFCS is for the taking NOW.

With Cam and good coaching and weapons around him we can win the NFC South. Our rookie QB gets a well needed redshirt or our Hog Mollie gets some fire.

Either way, we'd be lucky if Cam came back to close out his historic legacy where it started or until a rookie can beat him like Rodgers. I'm ok with that. I know this man and this defense gives us an opportunity to win the South NOW.

Pretty sure Cam previously served as a mentor to Watson and Willis in some capacity. Hell, Willis played on Cam's 7 on 7 team, spent three years at Cam's highschool, and went to Auburn.

Why do you assume Cam couldnt/wouldnt be a mentor? Lol. "What's he gonna teach Pickett?". Well let's not forget he is a former NFL MVP, Offensive Rookie of the Year, 3x Pro Bowler and former All-Pro. With a list of accolades that would look like a book of contents page.

X's and O's...He's literally top 50 in NFL HISTORY in PASSING yards. And that's with Sam Darnold-esque offensive lines and a list of receivers that included Funchess, Benjamin, Kaelin Clay, Damiere Byrd, Brandon Lafell, David Gettis, Ted Ginn Jr., and Philly Brown.... let that sink in.

He might not be prime Cam at the moment but he earned his respect over here.

I agree about a lot of this but Cam never had a line close to last year. The closest was ranked almost 30% spots higher. Cam’s average line rank his whole career is one spot lower than middle of the pack (17). Considering Cam liked to hold on to the ball longer it really isn’t close.

Cam’s running ability also covered up a lot of his O-line’s terrible play. Even on designed runs the defense had to respect his ability to pull it out and take off. I’m not saying they were the worst line in the league (they actually punched way above their weight class in 2015 only to collapse in the SB), but they were more often below average.

Explain how that's racism.

He literally said “It’s sure as hell not X’s and O’s. “  With literally no god damn evidence. Look, I know the F-150s don’t like it. But Cam Newton is the best passer in franchise history. That’s despite his “running QB” label.

Just listen to Olsen’s recent podcast where he talks about Cam. He’s a much more cerebral player than he’s been given credit for. I know in Aw shucks Delhomme land only QBs who look and play the way you want and relate to count as real QBs but you aren’t living in reality. Back in the day I bet you could throw a pig skin a quarter mile. But that doesn’t matter. There’s a reason Ryan Fitzpatrick sucks at QB despite being a Harvard grad. You want to associate things that don’t always equate to the intangibles of a winning QB. Patrick Mahomes admitted a little over a year ago he wasn’t reading defenses yet he’s in your “elite” category.  If Matt Ryan had Cams skillset then he wouldn’t have the stats he does, same with Brees. Yet prime for prime Cam is as dominant as either of them. The bigotry is blatantly obvious if you just take a moment to think critically.

Mahomes is elite because he can deliver any pass needed.

Cam couldn't plain and simple. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with passing ability.
