We knew this would be the case and honestly thank god.  Watson’s personal stuff aside, he wouldn’t have made us a legitimate contender.  It’s past time to get rid of Rhule, but hopefully some adult in this clownshow organization can ensure we won’t make any crazy moves to further fug our future.  If we can stop with the fugery and making desperate moves, we can actually rebuild this poo

Honestly I think it’s up to Fitts to teach a new Owner the ropes.. and this might be a learning lesson!! You hired me as a GM let me run things.. who knows who said what!! All speculation as a fan!!  I think I seen from othe Panther reports.. they are speculating Rhule as been relieved of personnel hires

We can only hope Rhule isn’t making any personal decisions at this point.  Clearly unacceptable he is still our head coach.  Just not good that he is obviously desperate, as he knows he can’t have a losing season.

I’m actually glad. If we would have traded for Watson it still wouldn’t have changed the fact our team has many holes to fill and a bad coach. We would end up trading 2 players which would make even more holes. We wouldn’t have any top draft picks to fill  those holes over the next 3 years. Watson barley had a winning record, you think he would get us over the hill?  We wouldn’t be super bowl contenders and we have a coaching staff that isn’t going to develop talent or have top free agents wanting to come here. This isn’t like what the rams did, they already had a good roster and was a top FA destination when they traded for Stafford. Broncos have a solid team as well and had lots of cap space to sign more talent. So if anything we might have been a borderline playoff team if we got Watson but never good enough to win a Super Bowl. Now we can keep our draft picks and build a team with them and then hopefully either draft a good QB or trade for one in the future.

We'll see. No deal is done, and this can all fall apart on the Falcons.

Watson's camp is strong arming the Texans to deal exclusively with the Falcons. Effectively lowering what the Falcons would have to pay up with the Panthers out. Looks like the Texans opening that last minute door to let Watson talk to the Falcons blew up in their face. I would not be surprised to see some fighting between the Texans and Watson after this move. Watson went all in on the Falcons being able to trade Ryan.

Let's see the Panthers move on to other QB options and free agent signing. That will tell me their offer is off the table. I want to see the Texans announce a Falcons trade or the Panthers pull their offer off the table (at least lower it). It's Tepper, so I doubt he stops at Watson not being open to a trade. Keep in mind that I do not want Watson.

But the panthers didn’t pull their offer, Watson told them to kick rocks.

Good and I never wanted this guy anyway. I understand you can’t win with a team full of Boy Scouts, but I’d rather the leader of my team not have this baggage for the price you are going to pay.

This looks terrible for Tepper bc he wanted Watson bad.

Watson's camp announced it after the Texans closed up and went home for the day. I'm sure the Texans are not happy about him strong arming them and lowering their leverage to get more out of the Falcons. We'll see how the Texans-Watson struggle plays out today.

It wouldn't surprise me if Watson's gamble backfires too and the entire thing falls apart with Matt Ryan staying in Atlanta.

Texans opened up the Falcons for Watson to talk with in an effort to get the most compensation from the Panthers, Saints or Falcons. They didn't want the Panthers out. I hope it blows up in the Texans face and Ryan goes to the Colts or Titans while they get less in compensation from the Falcons since they have less leverage on them now.

And yes, we are still waiting for a sign/report that the Panthers are removing their offer from the Texans and moving in a new direction (which I hope they do today).

It would be really funny if Watson uses his NTC leverage to force his way to the Falcons and the Texans upset with Watson giving leverage to the Falcons refuse to trade with the Falcons forcing him to the Saints. Eventually, the Texans have to get tired of his antics. Texans have much less leverage now because of Watson, but they are the ones who got greedy and let him talk to the Falcons last minute.

Well then he would just go to the saints and we’d still look foolish right?

I don't think it mattered. Tepper looked foolish when Watson turned him down a year ago and then going after Darnold. Then when Darnold fell on his face Tepper went back after Watson.

The only way to save face for Tepper was to get Watson and not turn over a kings ransom to the Texans.

Watson is going to hold back whatever team gets him in multiple ways, and his career will be much shorter than many think.

So now we have to take our medicine in the 2022 season. We're going to get destroyed, but our franchise will be rewarded with one the top picks in the 2023 draft. That draft has the potential to yield a franchise QB, unlike the 2022 draft which is poop for QBs.

I wanted Watson at a fair price, but Watson knew better than to come here. I wouldn't come here either if I were Watson.

This is the time when we need to painfully take a beating on Sunday with the future in mind. The 2022 draft should give us a LT for the rookie QB we draft in 2023. We pay the price now and throughout 2022, and then we hit the home run in 2023 hopefully. Slow, boring, disappointing, soul crushing, but the end is in site. The 2023 draft is everything at this point.

If Rhule trades our 2023 first round pick, then I will leave the forum until he is fired.
