Davante Adams to Raiders

Damn.  Locked Rodgers in and then shipped his favorite guy to Vegas.  Davante is an absolute stud so he’s gonna succeed wherever he goes.  His route running and release off the line are amazing.  Best WR in the league imo (Kupp’s right behind him)

Boone and Asheville. Towns full of rich kids acting like they're poor hippies, it's the worst

If Boone and Asheville bother you, try spots like Boulder, CO and Berkeley, CA. Wealthy trustafarians are a whole different level of annoying compared to mere rich trustafarians.

Isn't Rodgers gonna be pretty pissed about this? That was one of the reasons he chose to stay.

No, this draft has WRs all over…even Rodgers knows a deal like that for a WR is insane.  They go get him 3 this offseason

Christian Kirk gets 18M/year.

Devante Adams gets 28M/year.

Is DJ Moore gonna cost 22M/year?

28M a year for a WR?  Not me.  Randy Moss at his peak isn’t worth that contact.  Adams will not, in any way, match his numbers he had with Rodgers while in Vegas.  It will not happen, I have a million dollars to bet.  And I really like Carr.

That contract is lunacy

If we aren't ready to give Moore 22/year, the prudent thing would be to trade him to a WR needy team for a 1st or 2nd round pick.

DJ would be like the only high cost player we have by this time next year (they're moving on from Shaq and CMC if he's still getting hurt) so yes, pay him. He's good, still young and getting better every year. And your QB needs guys to throw to. Don't get cute

Aaron Rodgers has the well deserved reputation of being a total prick.

His huge contract will have negative consequences when it comes to supporting talent.

Russell Wilson has the same issue.  He couldn't seem to figure out why his supporting cast was never as good as when he was still on a rookie contract.

    • Easily. To be able to plug in a backup LT without much drop off from your starter? That could mean the difference between playoffs or sitting at home in January. Good/serviceable smart young and healthy LTs that won’t lose you a ball game at reasonable $$ don’t just come along every day. Picture next year… the team is scrappy and competitive, 4 and 3 record, second place in the South. Morale is good. devastating run game that Let’s our marginal defense get plenty of rest. We play the Bucs and win, going to 5 and 3, but we lose Ickey to a high ankle sprain. Atl loses that week and are now at 5 and 3 as well. There is no Ickey and no BC because we let him go… and we go in to Atl the next week for a battle of first in the south. Week after that is the Jets…. Now they lose both by 10 and 3, respectively, and fall to 5 and 5 going in to their bye week. Atl is at 7 and 3. Out of typical Panthers desperation, they try to rush Ickey back in to the lineup with a saints game coming up…  Back to good old Panthers football, always playing catchup. Another season at .500 and the fans sadly rejoice in mediocrity, when playoffs were in reach. This team always overestimates its ability to pick up quality o line depth in the draft or FA and it always blows up in their faces. Like Chuba, I see him as being part of the core that Dan is trying to build. Work on his contract now and see if we can come out with something mutually beneficial. I’d consider 3 yrs at $25m to be very fair.
    • it would be great to have "double trouble" again, I even had a T- shirt for Williams and Stewart and the double trouble logo, was a great time to be Panthers fan. We shall see...
    • Sounds like a plan. Those are the teams we should be mimicking! lol
