Where does the "culture" go from here?

This is the lowest we have been in a while. With that being said I’ll quickly move on. The good news is…if we sign free agent center Bozeman from the Ravens we have a legit shot at having an offensive line and can keep our young team together. We will then be a QB away and be set up for decent cap space after this year. Our number 6 pick can be a Franchise LT. The possibilities are endless after one more season of enduring Rhule and Darnold 🤮

I agree with you 100%. I would love Bozeman. We don’t need to depend on Michael Jordan and  Eflein. We need depth anyway.

Honestly hope that the offer never gets leaked and save some face with the team claiming jt was just draft capital offered so you don't have anyone get upset like Baker in Cleveland.

I hope it does leak if the Panthers lose out on the trade. I want to see how desperate they really are.

Why do we think there is a poor culture? I haven't heard a lot of "anonymous sources" coming out saying bad things about Rhule. I think the problem is we have a really young team, poor quarterback play, and a below average offensive line. That's a good recipe for losing. I feel like we have an owner / front office / coach that are at least trying to address those things. I think you have poor culture when the players don't think the front office is doing everything they can to win.

I know I'm in the minority here but I don't fully understand all of the hate for Rhule and Tepper. Two years ago everyone seemed to understand we were entering a rebuilding phase. Guys we have traded for are mainly young, high upside players.

We played in 8 one possession games last year. We won two of those. Last year we had the fourth youngest team in the league behind the Jets, Lions, and Browns. We lost our best player (who has only played in 10 games in the past two seasons) and have had poor quarterback play (the most important position in sports). They are at least trying to fix what appears to be a large part of the problem.

Regardless of how the Watson potential trade works out, I see an owner who seems to be willing to do whatever it takes to win. I hope we lose this Watson bidding war because I don't think we are just one player away but I also like an owner and GM who are "in on every deal" or at least exploring every deal.

We don't have culture problem, we have a winning problem. That can be fixed with the right player(s). My $0.02.

Typically, teams are young when they exclusively sign players from where the coach was before he was hired, and they jettison everyone who was part of the successful regime. If this is what passes for Tepper and Rhule trying, God help you when they stop trying.

The biggest failure was overestimating the skill set of Sam Darnold. Tepper is used to having things happen for him instantly. You can do that when you are a billionaire….most of the time. This is the NFL, you are competing with other rich people. That was a setback for the Panthers until the contract for Sam Darnold is up.

So far, there has been a lot of arrogance and ignorance when it comes to putting this "team" together. Hiring a bunch of college coaches with almost nil experience in the NFL, an offense so basic defenses knew it better than our QB, ridiculous contracts to players that aren't good, piss poor roster decisions, a terrible trade for Darnold without really watching his tape, his 5th year option, going all in for a playoff run and ending up 5-12, the system is working 1000%, announcing to the league he had a rookie all pro LT rated as a guard, insane nepotism towards anyone with a Baylor or Temple connection. Need I continue?

We have as many guys from Western Michigan as we do Baylor. One of the Temple guys just signed a 3 year, $45 million dollar contract with another team. You are going to bring people in that you are familiar with and who understand your system. I think the idea that he's willing to turn down a better player at a position just so he can bring in someone from a school he once coached is silly.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
