Maybe but I'm not certain. Hell, old take 24k gold plated after the trash we've been fielding at LT for years.

I don't think he is gonna prove to me much better than we have been fielding. We like him because he isn't Erving but that's really about all there is to like about him.

I like him because he played well at LT in college, played the best of our bad options at LT last year, and he's on a cheap rookie contract. If we don't sign a legit FA or draft an OT at #6 if we retain that pick he should walk into TC next year with the starting LT spot his to lose.

There is no comparison.  At their peaks, Baker blows Sam out of the water, period.  Talking about a league average starter or at least top 20 versus a scrub who is worst than half the backup QBs in the league.

Baker on a reasonable deal is good value while you pick his replacement in the draft

I would rather just roll with Cam and Sam (since we are stuck with Sam next season due to his crap contract). Give Cam another year and work on another QB in draft next season while taking a too offensive line prospect with our #6 draft choice. Cam doesn't have what he once did but I think he could still play some ball if he had a lone that could help give him some time to actually scan the damn field and keep his jersey clean.

Why would Cam want any part of the Panthers clown show? He deserves to go somewhere with an owner and staff who knows what they’re doing and has a chance to win a SB.

I will agree but would rather the first two options happen. IMO, he is still basically just a depth guy at best.

Cam is terrible.

    • Yeah and he succeeded at an even higher level in LA with an even better surrounding cast. Goff is a guy that isn't really able to dramatically elevate players around him but he can make a good situation even better. He is capable of that. Some QB's aren't. I am not sure Dak is able to do that and he is in a similar "class" as Goff, IMO.
    • i think i could handle that for a year. beyond that....i don't know.  back where we lived, when we had a few inches of snow, it might have been a couple feet because we weren't getting out and doing anything. i remember times where power would go out for days on end. we had propane and electric heat, depending on the floor. basement (had a couple bedrooms and a living room and kitchen down there) and main floor had gas logs. main floor gas logs was enough to take care of the upstairs, so we could stay warm and cook on the grill when we needed. we had a well so that was always an issue when the power went out. had to make sure tubs were filled with water for the toilets and we had gallons of water for drinking and cooking available. always had to make sure we were ready. that wasn't always the case. we had a couple moments where we were going through propane quickly and because we were dealing with the worst propane company in the world (amerigas) they wouldn't get out to put gas in our 900 gallon tank. made for some nerve racking moments.  i know y'all were probably a lot more able to handle that kind of thing, but after the little bit (comparatively) that we got here i just have no desire to get trapped again. maybe for a day or two a year get snowed in and i'm good.
    • I think he is just drawing a DC to them line and that's about as far as his thought process went. It makes almost no sense outside of that. Also, it doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh or Seattle at this juncture either.  I think our "veteran" pool is basically gonna be the Dalton/Flacco tier or the "pick your poison" options of young busts(Jones/Z. Wilson) or wild, TO prone gunslingers(Darnold/Winston/etc). We have the option to pursue I genuinely believe(depending on the way the rest of this season goes), we either draft a QB in the top 10 or resign Dalton. Outlier third option on taking one of the wild gunslingers that Dave feels like he can work with.
