We’ll when you have Bailey come on the air and blow smoke by saying things like, “we like our chances” it leads a lot of people to believe that we have a real shot.

With what’s coming out now, not so much.

Literally nothing since then has come out to say we’re out of the running. Not a damn thing.

So like we’ve said we got best offer and looks like he don’t want us. I don’t see why we just don’t say ok let’s look to the draft.

The bigger issue with that is IF he came here because it's the only trade package Houston would agree to, would he play his 4 years and leave? We have to be 1000% sure he is going to stay 10 years or there is no point doing this at all. We would be without a franchise QB, zero elite level talent on rookie deals, and beginning the search all over again. It could end up being a very expensive rental if he doesn't see Carolina as a long term fit and rather just someone to take his contract that Houston will agree to as a trading partner.

It's been said multiple times, if the Panthers don't get him, it wasn't lack of trying, they probably offered Deshaun literally everything he wanted. Sometimes it doesn't work out, take the gut punch and move on. Here hoping that's not the case though.

End of the day we still have options….

they'll sign armstead, watson, fuller, and jarvis landry and everyone will say "hey but muh cap"

So true.  People have been saying for years the Saints will hit cap hell… at some point.  When Brees signed the first $20M/year deal it was seen as ridiculous and that they’d be in cap hell soon.  This was 10 years ago.  Cap doesn’t exist for Loomis.  You can make the numbers do almost anything you want.  He was an accountant, I believe, before his Saints gig and that has paid dividends.

Yeah sure, that’s what it is. Nothing to do with the fact he’s 10 years younger than their QB and would recharge their fanbase since he’s local. Probably just wants to sit down and talk about the weather.

I wrote this last year when the Watson talks first started up:

Watson to Atlanta does make some sense. Houston would probably end up with Ryan as a bridge or stopgap, a top five pick this year to take a young QB or other top talent, other picks and players as well. Watson would then go home to Georgia and be the hometown hero. Atlanta gets to reload with a top young QB on a long term contract and sell a ton of jerseys and other merch.

If that was to happen, this place would have a meltdown of epic proportions.

Take out the top five pick and the rest still holds up.
