That just isn't accurate. The NFL will wait for all the dust to settle on the trade and the civil cases and then make a decision. Interested teams understand there will be some kind of suspension, 2-6 games likely.

Not it’s not, Florio even reported a while back the Texans would have agreed to trade him to Carolina last season, but Watson declined it.

Ya know - after catching up on the roller coaster just now - there are some wild assumptions being made about the process in Houston right now as well.  It is perfectly possible that Houston told Watson he's free to set up meetings and to give them a set of teams for which he would play (not one team) then they will decide which offer to accept.  It's further possible they've already told him they are willing to sit him again if he doesn't produce a team with an adequate offer given that there's a Houston radio guy saying they're willing to do exactly that.  They are clearly exercising some control of the situation given they didn't even let Indy talk to him.

This is, clearly, just as speculative as it is to assume that Watson will be allowed to do literally whatever he wants with whomever he wants (except Indy) and Houston will accept it.  Some perspective adjustment could be in order.  Maybe.

If that happens and they have to eat 55 million in dead cap, plus absorb Watsons contract, than that’s still a win for us.  Atlanta will not be able to sign a single FA and will likely have to cut additional starters.

Just pull the offer now.  It doesn't seem like he wants to be here and we are looking like needy wimps right now.  Use all the money to build up a bad ass OL and let Sam flounder next year and then draft our future franchise QB.

That makes me believe there’s no way it’s gonna happen it ATL. Too much dead money.

yeah we may lose players and picks. But we have a ton of cap space starting next year.
