Maybe I was wrong about KENNY PICKETT after reading these evaluations.

I really don’t get the hate. I’d prefer a couple QBs to him, but I would be fine and excited if we drafted him. People are worrying about him fumbling with his hands, umm let’s not let our QB get blindside tackled enough for it to be an issue??

The hand thing is just the social media effect. I prefer Willis but if this five first round pick acquisition falls through roll the dice and be done with it.

Yeah Grier wasn’t  the prospect Pickett is. Pickett is accurate with enough arm strength to make all the throws and the speed to extend plays while throwing off the run. The only negative to Pickett is his hands are .5 inches smaller than Burrow’s and he doesn’t have a Rodgers arm. His arm is still plenty good enough for the NFL and he is a first round talent. I think top 10 is a bit of an overreach but QBs get over-drafted every year. Grier aired it out in the Big 12 like every QB that plays in that conference. He had some tools but seemed to lack pocket awareness and had trouble reading defenses on the next level. He also isn’t very mobile.

Funny everything you typed in your breakdown was said about Will Grier and you act like they are different prospects..

When Andy Dalton is the comparison and top 6 pick is what your using to get him..

The hate just flows freely..

Could ppl stop being disingenuous when trying to prop up Kenny Pickett 1 × please??

Don't just post 1 season of numbers when he played 5..

When comparing him to other QBS compare more then 1 season..

Try to effectively show a progression from year 1 to year 5 not just showing Year 5 and based his whole college career on it...

A poster mentioned the Mannings. That goes back to what I said about who has the best agents come draft time.

If the Mannings are involved that explains every bit of the hype.

Take away that last year and you've got a less than 60% completion, 13TD a year guy four years in a row.

More guys played better for longer. Fhules Gold. I don't buy it.

It’s a 84 (good starter) vs 73 (backup). That was where they are ranked. Backups get drafted in the 3rd/later, starters (especially QBs) go in the first.

Yeah WTF would the Manning’s know about QBs. How about he had a conference breaking year statistically passing Watson (the guy we want to trade our roster for) this past season while delivering a subpar Pitt team the ACC Championship? Maybe, just maybe that’s where the hype is coming from?

Kiper compared him to Derek Carr who IMO is very underrated. He is what attracted McDaniel to the Raiders. Pickett is faster than Carr, but Carr probably has a stronger arm.

It's still similar breakdowns..

Smart players,  above avg. Arms

Avg athletics reads defenses moves well in the pocket.. No elite talent..

Same Buzz words similar athletics similar talents (1 consistently had better numbers) but we're dam near talking about the same player..

The only reason Pickett is getting a hire score is the level of competition in the draft ..

Will Grier had Murray's, Allen and Jones in his draft..

Great Derrk Carr was a 2nd round Pick.. If we can get him then the hate wouldn't be so prevalent... Nobody was drafting Derek Carr or Andy Dalton top 10 .. So why do it now??

I think the hate is from Pickett's connection to Rhule when he was recruited to Temple and the assumption he'd be our pick at #6 over much more talented, higher rated players.

Yeah he outplayed where he was drafted…. You know that’s possible right? Russ and Dak were 3rd, Brady was 6th, Brees was a 2nd. Come on man you are better than that.

I get that 6 is high for him, but where is he rated 16th? Being a QB is going to get him over-drafted. I’m just saying he is a solid prospect and it won’t be that bad if we over-draft him. Many analysts have him as the top rated QB on this class and we are either going to overpay/trade away assets for another vet QB or draft one. Option B is safer and easier to overcome if he does struggle.

Doesn't change  the risk factor was greatly diminished by where he was drafted..

That doesn't work when you draft that type of QB high..

And your idea of Out playing his draft status  is always being questioned if he is a franchise QB that can carry a team, no playoff success,  and being considered the least talented QB in that division...

    • There's a real physical toll that playing in the NFL takes on the body.  Certain things just won't work the same, which will make some of those challenges painful and hard.  These folks are all rich and have cushy lives to return to.  I'm not saying Cam will leave first, but I can see it after a few episodes when old injuries flare up.  Or he decides he's done with it.
    • His size could work against him…BUT Cam is a weird duck.  He was wired differently.  I would bet on the young Cam that could barely get dressed after a loss….that dude wouldn’t have quit easily IMO.  But that dude doesn’t exist anymore.
    • i got attacked by a housecat once. pretty terrifying.  i was at a friends house and the cat jumped on my lap. it was calm for a minute but then it turned on it's back and bit my hand and sunk it's claws into my arm, all four of them so i grab the thing and pull the thing off my arm, dragging it's claws down my arm. i finally get the crazy thing off and throw it on the ground then it grabs my leg (fortunately i was wearing jeans that day) and the owner, who has just been sitting there in shock watching this happen to this point, grabs the thing and carries it downstairs and throws it outside.  supposedly that cat had never done anything like that before. i had been over there a lot and never had any problems with that cat. but something happened to it and it was never the same. went completely mental. they kept it outside after that. one week they went on vacation for a few days and apparently a stray chow came around and when they got home, the chow had the cat trapped under a car. no telling how long it had been there.  they chased off the chow and the cat ran off and they never saw it again. then that chow came back and hung around for a while and was terrorizing the other animals, including an old horse they had in a pasture. it killed at least one cat that i know of. they called animal control on it and they found it under one of their outbuildings. they figured the only thing they could do is shoot the thing. they shot it with a shot gun and it took one blast and then went running towards the guy who shot it and had to shoot it again.
