We aren't bidding against ourselves. If you think there aren't going to be a number of teams wanting to trade for Watson, you're kidding yourself. Two of them are in our division. 

 

And don't give me salary cap crap.. We all know that's a myth and there's ways around it

Wilson is not more valuable. Laughable. And why are you "only retaining them both for 3-4 years?" How many good QBs truly hit free agency in their prime? Cousins is the only one that immediately comes to mind in the last 20 years.

Sure we are. Other teams have already sniffed around balked at the price and peace'd out. Denver was one of them. Miami seemed to be the most likely destination then they called it quits. All we have now are rumors of teams that might have interest which is just more smoke and mirrors. Do not give this regime too much credit after the Darnold fiasco.

There are a lot of teams that will be interested in trading for him.

 

Saints, Bucs, Eagles, Colts, Seahawks, Steelers are definitely watching closely.    It won't be cheap and anybody thinking Panthers are the only team interested are blind.

 

All of the legal stuff aside, 3 1sts and 2 starters is way too much for a team that has so many holes even for a Top 5 QB.

Of course other teams are watching but unfortunately for us OUR front office was the only one dumb enough to give up what they did for Darnold and they drove up the price for him. Now they are even more desperate. We would be giving them far too much credit to believe they are not doing the same here for a far more established young talent.

I'm on the same page with you, except I'll add another player and another draft pick. Two first rounders, a 2nd rounder, Brown, and Darnold. Call it a day.

If it weren't for his legal situation I would say a package like this isn't totally out of the question for a top young QB, but under the circumstances I just don't get how ANY team would be willing to give up that much for Watson.

Watson will be in Tampa or NO next season. He won't come to this dumpster fire where everyone knows Fhule is on the hot seat.
