Such a stupid contract...I am getting tired of these bone headed contracts...and it continues to happen over and over again....hence Ian Thomas.....

Panthers need to be careful.  All these bloated contracts for JAGs and underperformers might give somebody the impression that Rhule and Fitterer don't have a clue as to what they're doing.

No one is safe...well, Thomas and Darnold and Walker and...

I get getting rid of Anderson. Getting rid of Moore and keeping Anderson is a bad choice but it's justifiable for these people and their level of skill. Getting rid of both is just straight moronic.

It’s an easy contract for us to ship and cheap one for the pats to pickup. They cut aglohar and they are basically paying Robby 7mil this year. Then can cut him next year with no penalty.  It’s a win win for both teams

I mean we are still losers for signing him to that contract and carrying $9M in dead cap. If we hadn't drafted 2 WR's I'd understand Robby having the leverage but he really didn't have any during that little holdout.

im not going to defend the contract. I can give a half glass full perspective but we can just stop here.

all teams are like this. This is just twitter-sphere reporting.

I just feel we get so many direct knowledge sources of behind the scenes stuff whereas a lot of other spots it’s more rumors or the transactions themselves.

His total contract value vs the rest of the league puts him in the 20 range for highest paid WR. How the money lays out per year shouldnt be how players are valued in their position. If you want to use that metric, lets see where RA lands after free agency this month. Then we will see where he falls.

In reality players are 100% judged and valued on their cap hit and dead cap.

If Robby is on the Panthers this year and he doesn’t put up top 10 wide receiver numbers then the FO isn’t going to keep him just because his base salary is $8M. They are going to look at his cap hit and dead cap number and see that he can be cut very easily which in turn provides more value to the team.

His value to the Panthers was high when his cap hit was only $8M and he was putting up huge numbers, with that in the past his value begins to diminish as the cap hit gets bigger. Especially considering the numbers he put up last year.
