I prognosticate Panthers draft day.

Looking into my crystal ball.

Matt Rhule will need three starters out of this draft to have a chance at saving his job.

Therefore...

a) A QB won't be selected.

b) At least one trade down is likely.

Unfortunately, the 6th pick this year isn't as valuable as other years thanks to a weaker draft class.

The Panthers will end up with two late first round picks and one late second round pick. They also might pick up a third round pick and have a well rounded draft.

Im tellling you right now, it might be all offensive line.

It should be all OL. If we can get 3 LEGIT starters out of this draft we might have a chance at not sucking.

But I agree, Rule doesn't have the luxury of developing a young QB (not that he's capable of it anyway) and he also can't risk drafting a QB and hoping he's ready to go out of the gate. So QB probably won't be the pick at 6.

All that to say.... Our first pick will probably be another corner.

Anybody know what McAdoo's track record is like with developing young QBs?

They should have done that last year. Now they are going to make up for lost picks with a trade back and find 3 starters in this draft after not having one start more than 3 games last season?

I would say they need to do it for me to belive it. Expecting Erving or Elf to start again is a very bad start to the process.

I definitely agree with everything you said other than a legit chance of not sucking. No matter how much our line improved we will still suck with Darnold at QB

That would be the best possible outcome.

Nah. The Panthers will shock everyone by finally taking that first round TE at 6. 😆

I still think ,  after observing Rhules 2021 draft,, we can't rule out Long Snappers with our first pick.  Rhule is drooling over these 4. 😆  IF we trade back, we'll never get these guys ..

Cal Adomitis ,Pitt..

Damon Johnson ,  USC

Erik Dickerson, Arz St

John Taylor, Duke

I said legit starters might give us a chance, not a legit chance. Just a chance. If they can keep darnold from freaking out and if he doesn't lose his security blanket (CMC) then he might be more of what we saw the first few weeks.

I don't want to take that risk, though.

    • Nah I wanna see these NFL evaluators talking about his prospects at WR aren't good because I would LOVE to see thier explanations
    • You do realize that raw stats don't make someone a better or worse player, right? To begin with, the last time I checked, 1,319 is more yards than 1,258, so T-Mac had more yards (but I'll forgive you as a typo there and say you meant catches lol), but that's before even factoring in that Hunter did his in 13 games vs 12 for T-Mac because Arizona didn't make a bowl game. It's also completely ignoring the team around each player.  If you think Hunter having the 8th place finisher in the Heisman voting at QB isn't going to result in helping his top WRs stats, then you're sticking your head in the sand to purposefully not see it. Hunter's QB had 353 completions for 4,134 yards and 37 TDs vs T-Mac's QB who had 260 completions for 2,958 yards and 18 TDs. But sure, let's rank NFL prospects by their stats and say the guy with more catches and TDs is the better prospect.  So on that note, I now change my mind, T-Mac is no longer the best WR in the draft, it's Nick Nash who had 104 rec, 1,382 yards, and 16 TDs, all numbers better than Hunter's... because that's how this is done, right? As I've said before, if someone wants to like a player better than someone else that's totally fair, but come with real reasons, talk about their play, but to talk about things like stats as your reasoning, when you ignore the obvious and massive flaws in using those stats in that way, just makes you look dumb.
    • Nah you don't go out and put up the numbers he did without being able to run routes dude is a football junky so he works on his craft he isn’t THAT much more athletic than other players to just be able to go out and do whatever and succeed at that level
