Ian Thomas facing five charges for trying to get away from cops on a dirt bike

I sure do.  We have a bunch of people on this board who are letting the Carolina Panthers cause them anxiety, anger and frustration.  Ray Rice punched a woman.  Kareem Hunt beat a child.  Ian Thomas…sped on a dirt bike.

Sure…we just guaranteed him a whopping 8 million.  Oh well.  The sun will rise tomorrow

Its the slowest time of the NFL year and this is being talked about on NFL network and countless others sites/tvshows. The timing is bad since the panthers just agreed to a vast over-pay, it makes them appear dumberererr.

I was lucky enough to live in a area were I drove 4/3 wheelers, go-carts, golf carts on the street right regular. So me and thomas at least got that in common, still lawyers talking about getting them reduced form felonys.......... running form the law is no "LOLZ lets go buy some pixel sticks at the corner store, LOLS" deals. Bad timing and he has a history of being dumb behind the wheel since he also was caught doing 91.....A smart team could think" Yea this guy keeps making it hard for himself and hes done very little on the field, lets find another solution like sign a cheap FA or use a 4th(like happened with him) for his replacement....."

Not big brained Matt Rhule

Since the season ended and the reports that they are keeping Rhule rolled out for weeks, its been nothing but bad report after bad report. This is another one.

I'm still more baffled that he's taking up over $6 mil of next years cap when we had Reddick, Gilmore, & Jackson to work with.

Such weird priorities going so quickly to PJ Walker and Ian Thomas of all people this offseason.  Same deal like last year prioritizing and signing Erving and Elflein immediately with the entire FA market still to be worked out.

Nothing makes sense with these guys.

We already overpaid this shmuck who this staff had pegged as our TE2 on the depth chart going into last year top-12 TE in the NFL salary.  It is simply insane.  They had him behind Dan Arnold and were so uncertain at TE kept 5 of them.

This simply adds on that in that already incompetent decision, they knew he had multiple pending legal charges and was a straight up loser on the field who shrivels up mid-play.

Like what in the f*ck is going on?  Ian Thomas? Ian f*cking Thomas?

If the goal is to fill the roster with players that mirror Rhule, then the Panthers are on track to achieving that goal.

That's "the process". This is what David Tepper and Marty Hurney got sold on - this man's vision. Hence why everyone is so down on the organization. By the looks of it, we have an absolute moron steering this ship and I'm not talking about Matt Rhule though he certainly qualifies as well.

Just shows bad judgement and a good lawyer, not too bad for a guy we should have cut last pre-season.

It's stupid but that's probably why we wanted to keep him around doing bare minimum on a bloated contract when we could just be playing the 2nd year guy they drafted, he fits the new mold perfectly. He is bad at his job and a public embarrassment. Guess he is the official starter now.

Fun context--players on the Panthers with more guaranteed cash than some guy named Ian Thomas:

CMC

DJ Moore

Taylor Moton

The Sam Darnold & Robbie Anderson sh*tpile

We've prioritized Ian Thomas that much.  This is unjustifiable and flat out stupid.

Also, to be clear, it's not even the charge itself.  We just gave a 3 year $18 mil contract to a guy who rides a dirt bike in a Walmart parking lot.

To further elaborate on why that's bad...

Most teams would likely see Thomas as a fringe player. Hence, pulling a stunt like this would probably get him cut.

Us? We gave him an extension 😖

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
