Besides hiring Rhule what has been Tepper's biggest mistake so far?

I actually think structure is his biggest mistake overall.  If the structure is right, the coach situation would take care of itself.

This is spot on to me. Too much power with no checks/balances. I really like what the Niners did with Lynch/Kyle (which still should only be used for a high profile candidate like Kyle was). The head coach from Baylor with little NFL experience should never start off with that kind of power and no checks/balances.

"ketchup" or "catsup"...

The Tomlin Narrative is 100% #FakeNews 🤦‍♂️

Not shutting down the speculation about Mr. Whip-It-Out is a mistake...

Maybe he wants “Mr Whip-It-Out”??? 😳😳😳😳

PS- How dare you imply Tepper made a mistake?! Do you know how much he is worth?!?! 😡😡😡🤦🤦🧜‍♀️

To be objective, let’s list pros and cons:

Cons:

-Hurney, and furthermore trusting him with contracts and a coach search

-Showing inexperience, ineptness and embarrassment by thing like trying to interview capable GMs while not possible as Hurney was GM

-Refusal hire help, doing it, and failing, himself

-Hiring Rhule, too much to point out here

-Rhule’s contract

-Rhule’s control from draft to cronyism, and in essence trying to defy history’s couple of blueprints to success; trying too hard to be a path maker

-Not firing Rhule, and yet to be seen but sabotage the franchise future even more so, performance has gone downhill somehow coinciding with destroying a healthy cap

-Allowing poo to be thrown at the wall instead of focusing on targeting capable people to conduct meaningful evaluations and analyzations

-Goes into hiding, which would be fine if that was his personality, but judging by the past two years that’s not true - he’s hiding

-Disregarding PSL owners with things like putting his revenue first (getting rid of end zone seats fuging their owners etc.)

-Changing tradition (keep pounding), ignoring game day experience for the most part

-Most likely fuging tax payers and doubling down fuging PSL owners with a new stadium (wait and see but likely)

-Just needs one more losing season to solidify the worst era in Panther’s history, and as a historical below average team sitting on top of the bottom third of the NFL in many categories, that’s saying a lot

-Claiming success takes 5 years or according to Rhule, 7 years, another embarrassing and distraction, clearly a statement from inexperience and possibly complacency, but probably true for his strategic method of throwing poo at a wall

-Leaving the franchise to rot while focusing on side projects

Pros:

-Logo at midfield

-High tech practice field, moving on from Wofford (thanks god)

-Including SC somewhat more, though this was more a revenue play

I won’t go into Cam. He’s clearly done and didn’t want to play without an extension. So that wasn’t the mistake. The mistake was not having a replacement or capability to find one, for several years and ongoing.

Not looking good.

His 2nd biggest mistake was being so vocal and visible early on. Now everybody expects daily updates from him

I think it's more that he had no issues being vocal when he thought he was outsmarting the league. Now that the emperor has no clothes, the silence just seems like cowardice without humility. Probably not the case but, as they say, perception is everything.

All the owners share the league's revenue so he is making money regardless. But biggest mistake besides hiring Matt Rhule was not firing Hurney with Ron Rivera.

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
